The El Zamuro fort is a small fort located on what can be considered the highest hill in Ciudad Bolívar, capital of the state of Bolívar - Venezuela. It was built during the 18th century and the reason for its construction was motivated by the fact that all ports and places where ships enter either by rivers or seas, forts were built as part of the custody and surveillance of the city against any attack. I don't know what its name is due to, perhaps because many vultures congregate in these areas.

The location of this fort is a short distance from the center of the city and its historic center, even from that height of the fort you can see part of that great historic center, as well as all the contrast of the rest of the city surrounded by the Caroní River, thus having a great view of great beauty of this city, from a point where part of architecture and history are harmonized.

On the other hand, this fort is very close to the Quinta San Isidro, one of Simon Bolivar's houses, so it can be easily accessed on foot. Now from the point where I started the walk to get to the fort, from the entrance of the city where the bus left me, it took me about 50 minutes to get to the fort on foot, of course, I previously took advantage of the fact of visiting Simon Bolivar's house, which I had not visited since I was a child and therefore I had no memories of those moments, which I will soon be making a publication about that house that currently functions as a museum.

Then when you get to the entrance of the fort, you enter a well-marked entrance taking a climb to a small hill, which if anything takes about 10 minutes to climb that hill, so it is easy to climb, unlike the Solano fort in the city of Puerto Cabello, which has a much larger infrastructure and is located at a much higher point. Once you are up there you can see a great view of the city, as well as the entire structure of this small fort, which also preserves a cannon, which most likely has been spent in this place for many years and who knows how many things could have happened from this point.

The entrance to this fort is free and it is easy to find the route, perfect for all those people who like to do a little hiking, exercise, to take pictures or for the simple fact of appreciating a little of the history of many of these places, as well as appreciating in part a little of that architecture and the contrast with the typical vegetation of the area. Although on the other hand it is advisable to go with very cool clothing and with plenty of water to drink, because Ciudad Bolívar is a very hot city and at any time one can become dehydrated. Therefore this has been all for today the sample of this visit that I had planned for a long time to a place that I had always known of its existence but had never known, therefore here is a sample through the photographs of this place.

Me gustan mucho tus fotos.
