Today, as I woke up, I was thinking about what we could do for the day, and in the most improvised way, my wife and I went to Salto La Llovizna, one of the most important tourist attractions in the city of Puerto Ordaz, and which is about 10 minutes by car from where we live to the park. It is a place that I have already lost count of the number of times I have gone since I was very young, but it is still boring every time I visit it, just as I get to know another part of the park, because it is actually very large and I have not visited it completely, it is almost 200 hectares in the entire park and it also connects with other natural parks in the city.
This time I wanted to focus on the main waterfall or known as Salto La Llovizna, which has a height of about 20 meters, and you can see in the photographs that near it is the Macagua dam, which since it was built has taken away more of the force of the water from the waterfall, but even so you can appreciate that force and especially when there is a lot of rain, you can even see a great rise in the waters as if it almost overflowed the park.
We did the tour from different angles of the waterfall, as well as exploring other sectors of the park that I will show in other publications, but from the waterfall you can see the entire path of the water that passes through various paths, even making a division into channels that I do not know if it is natural or if they did it that way when they built the dam many decades ago. On the other hand, in these waters, kayaking or even trips were made in small boats passing under the waterfall, but I did not see any that offer those services at this time.
However, it is always gratifying to contemplate this great waterfall, and it makes me think how its waters fall constantly without stopping, it is the cycle of life that goes at that pace, this has been so for thousands of years, passing through the history of its nature of those who have appreciated this imposing landscape, where many years ago there were indigenous tribes that lived in a wild habitat for those times, when the city did not exist and therefore there were many animals, which after the construction of the dam many of those animals were transferred to various zoos in Venezuela.
Without a doubt, for those who visit the city of Puerto Ordaz - Venezuela, they cannot miss a visit to Salto La Llovizna, it is a very close place from any point in the city, where they can appreciate the great magnitude of the nature of the area, as well as feel the peace of nature to spend a moment with family or friends in full contact with the environment. It only remains for us to take care of these natural spaces, so that they can always exist and so that new generations can appreciate these beautiful places.
