Today is Saturday, another day to take advantage of the routine of taking pictures, and on a hot afternoon I decided to go to a part of the city of Puerto Ordaz - Venezuela, which is usually visited by me, although I know several of those places for a while, but let's say that this part of the city is not so active but still from that point it is considered as the beginning or foundation of the city for more than 70 years, and on the other hand it brings back memories of my childhood when there were places that no longer exist today, such as the old movie theater.
Puerro Ordaz is a relatively small city and if we are in a central place like the area where I live we can quickly move to other important points of the city, even walking can be reached in a short time, so I decide to walk from my home to the areas where I took all these photos, which are known as the oldest area of Puerto Ordaz or at least the beginnings of the city.
The good thing about this route was that it was going down hills, because the city is constantly going up and down and that can be a bit tiring, plus the heat, but practically everything was downhill and on the way back I took a bus to go home. At first I took well-known roads like the Alta Vista sector, Plaza de Las Banderas, Parque de La Navidad and from there I took a long descent, where you could see part of the city of San Felix, the Cachamay stadium and the great Caroní River. Then I would arrive at a well-known area like Villa Brasil, which is normally a residential area but little by little new businesses and places of entertainment are being created, until I reached a point known as El Trébol, which is a commercial area from a long time ago, but currently it is a bit abandoned or not very busy.
Then I found some squares as we see in the post, the facade of a church that in a certain way interested me for its architecture, and then I started to climb the hill a little, to pass by certain places that reminded me a lot of my childhood, such as the Chinese restaurant Gran Furama, which is currently still operating and sometimes I order for delivery, it is the one we see in the first photograph, but other well-known restaurants were not so lucky and were abandoned, but its facade still stands as an old memory.
And a few meters from the Gran Furama restaurant, we found the old shopping center known as the Loreto tower, which has always caught my attention for its pyramid-shaped architecture. They are vestiges of the city that sometimes still operate and other times are abandoned, but it certainly brings back many memories when I was a child and I used to visit these places with my parents, now I don't usually go much but I would like to continue exploring parts of the city that I would like to continue delaying.
All photographs are my own.
That is one way to do it, take the downhill route, and go back home by bus.
Happy that you enjoy the walk and the visit my friend
Thanks friend !
