Do you know that there is a Legoland Street in Malaysia? Yup, this is true, not a joke at all! It was my first time here although the theme park had been welcoming visitors for the past 12 years. Albeit a little late, I’d like to think that no one is ever too old for Legoland. Maybe it’s a dream destination to some children but at least this big kid (myself) got to be there before I exit this world. Sometimes, I do imagine or daydream about receiving letters with the Legoland Street address. I can already sense that some people are rolling their eyes at my foolishness. Chill and kindly follow me on my journey to discover my inner child again.

Legoland Malaysia is huge to me but perhaps not at all a challenge to others. The total area is around 76 acres or 310,000 meter square. The landmark consists of resort, theme park, water park and aquarium. The reason it is huge to me is because I enjoy observing sculptors or attractions at my own pace. Trust me, I can be really slow like a tortoise, or maybe even the tortoise can easily outpace me. Hence, I’m glad I have all the time in the world while I’m there.

On the first day there, we only managed to visit part of the theme park. It’s too difficult to resist all the rides. Some rides, we even took twice. I especially enjoyed the roller coasters because they are relative mild compared to ones in adult theme parks. They are a lot of fun, created plenty of butterflies in the stomach, minus the vomiting part. I also made sure to just eat lightly. Such a perfect match in my case. I think I’m ready for more challenging rides after this experience. I need to slowly but surely build my tolerance level in this regard. The moving observation tower was also a very worthwhile attraction. Visitors get to observe the 360-degree view of the city. We like going there especially when we got tired of walking although taking the Legoland train is also another good alternative option.

On the second day there, the theme park was unfortunately closed for maintenance so I had to make do with visiting only the aquarium. While at the aquarium, I learnt about many types of fishes, mollusks, seahorses, and other sea creatures. I was very exhilarated to learn more about endangered local fish species a lot. Among those that I can still recalled accurately are Asian Arowana, Giant Red Tail Gourami, Bala Shark, and Spotfin Betta. Tropical seahorses are also categorized as vulnerable species. Seahorses are very unique sea creatures because the male will care for offsprings till full-term and ready to be released into seaweed forest. They are one of a kind male nanny in this weird world. Lastly, I was also very excited to learn about the different types of sharks available at the aquarium. They are the black tip reef shark, tawny nurse shark, and zebra shark.

The third day or final day was also my favorite. I got to spend the entire day observing miniature buildings. In case one misses the opportunity to take pictures of KLCC twin tower, there is definitely a miniature one located at Legoland Malaysia. Other that showcasing famous miniature landmarks of 14 states in Malaysia, there are also famous miniature landmarks of other countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, and more. To be completely honest, I spent way too much time there in awe of all the spectacular handy work. It was a very satisfying trip indeed!
