It is still Spring in Japan!
Although cherry blossoms are not blooming at this time, there are other flowers in their blooming time. However, this post won't talk about those flowers. 😅
Woke up late afternoon on a Saturday but hey, it's the weekend. Weekend means no work. Today is Pikmin Bloom's Community Day (I'll create another post about it) so I need to go out, breathe in fresh air and walk around.
To be honest, if I woke up early (or at least after lunch time), I would have gone to see the tulips that are actually in their blooming time now.
Before the sun sets, I decided to go to Nishi Shinjuku. Nishi (西) in english means west, so yes, you guessed it right! I'm going to West Shinjuku.
Started the walk from Nakano all the way to Nishi Shinjuku and the walk lasted around 30-45 mins. Of course, I stopped a bit along the way to snap photos because the sun was still up.
It was a hot weather. After all, it's in the middle of spring here in Japan. I was expecting it to be at least windy but no. In the end, I was sweating from the weather, not from the walk (or was it?).
You will know when you have entered Shinjuku because the high rise buildings will welcome you. I think these are office buildings. Not a lot of salaryman (they usually wear formal attire) can be seen because it's the weekend.
Nishi Shinjuku has a lot of buildings but there's a park somewhere. Yep, it's the Shinjuku Central Park. I mentioned it in one of my cherry blossoms blog which you can find here.
Although it's not cherry blossoms blooming time anymore, there are still a lot of people laying down their mats in the park. I wonder if they don't feel the hot weather at all?
What I really like in this park is its accessibility (well, I live in the city so this is really a lifesaver). I can just sit down here, looking at the skyscrapers and reflecting life (wow!).
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (in japanese we call it 都庁, read as Tocho) can also be seen from this park. Actually, you just need to walk a few more meters to reach the entrance of the building. This building has an observatory at the top, and the great part is it's free! This time, I didn't go to the observatory but usually I go there whenever I come to this park.
Anyway, Shinjuku Central Park is so wide so if you want to explore it, here is the map.
I ended my walk in this park. The sun has set so it's time to go home (actually, I didn't go home yet - I found a cafe nearby so I'm here writing this post 😅).
Til next time!
Thank you for reading and see you around!

@wittyzell,
I am curious if those fluffy pancakes were enjoyed on this trip? 😄
What a wonderful post! My first impression from your beautiful photos is of my time in Germany while in the U.S. Army... there was not a single bit of trash on the streets. They had people in orange suits, with brooms... all in a single line, and sweeping. That was their job, and they did it quite well! Here, in the States, this is not always the case. So many people have a habit of throwing their trash on the ground... sad, really. Such a stark contrast, between the tall highrise buildings, mixed with the trees... I could see spending many hours, just sitting and relaxing at the Shinjuku Central Park. I have never been to Japan, but at least you have provided us with an up-close and personal look... ah the awesomesauce of the blockchain!
Thank you for taking us along with you, as you enjoyed your weekend. Hope to see what the whole "Pikmin Bloom's Community Day" is about!

I'm kinda surprised to learn you were in Germany as part of the army.. WOW!
And I can imagine Germany and other countries in Europe to be a clean country too, just like Japan and now that you shared this, confirmed!
I wish I could also travel to Germany or even to the States.
I enjoy traveling and sharing about it, and aside from that, learn different norms in that country. I'm glad to share what's here so others can also learn even just a bit of this country.@wesphilbin Thank you for being here and for sharing a part of your life!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend too!

Beautiful structures😍 The streets of Japan is beautiful and inspiring, like how can you not get inspired? LOL!
The first frame after the cover, i wonder what History is behind that? The shaolin warriors?😆
@queenstarr Thank you for being here! And I couldn't agree more! Japan is a modern country but they are also preserving their culture and nature.
I'm not pretty sure myself about the history but I know that usually in Buddhist temples like this, the main gate will always house the guardian deities on both sides. If I'll dig into it more, I'll let you know. 😉

I expected Shinjuku to look busier haha. Is it because it's the weekend? Or are people not still going out as often as before?
Parang everyday vacation talaga pag nasa Japan haha. Have a great weekend!
@jazzhero Shinjuku is busy everyday. This part of Shinjuku is usually where the big hotels and companies are located, so since it's the weekend, konti lang tao. The heart of Shinjuku is mga few meters away pa, at dun ang super daming tao.
Everyday vacation nga! You too, have a great week ahead!
Wow, such a beautiful park in the middle of the city. Thanks for sharing this. 🙂

@nane-qts Thank you for dropping by! It is indeed beautiful.
Just by lookin at the photos, its very clear how Japan treat its cities and parks. Its so clean, even the air is clean. You can't do that in Cebu City anymore 😅. Last time I went to Cebu City I felt choking due to the thick polluted air around me 😂
@pinkhub The people are so disciplined here. You can’t just throw trash anywhere, you gotta bring it home. Even with the modernization, they still treat the environment well. Hope Cebu will also be like this in the future. It seems like there’s no more hope, but let’s continue to pray and hope people will one day wake up and be friendly with the environment.
Youkoso ( I think I am right) I'm from Sri Lanka. In my higher studies, we had to study a novel named “Malagiya Eththo” It includes a great love between a person from my country and a Japanese girl. That book is amazing in my country's novel literature. I have loved Japan since the day I read that book. A country with a great culture and a beautiful environment as well as with innocent human beings. I would love to come to Japan at least once in my life. Thank you for sharing this wonderful post. Love it ❤️@wittyzell Hello dear friend,
By the way, the book seems interesting!@nilumadu I think most people really want to go to Japan even once in their life. After all, it’s really a beautiful country! I hope you can come to Japan once borders are open.
Thank you @wesphilbin and @thoughtfulposts 😌
