Buwakan ni Alejandra is a 700-square-meter garden conveniently situated on the Cebu Transcentral Highway, about an hour from the heart of Cebu City. It is home to a variety of flower plants and features approximately 200 kinds of flora and fauna. The attraction is named after Eleuterio Gentap's mother-in-law.
A new attraction in Gaas, Balamban, Cebu is paving its way to fame. It is “Buwakan ni Alejandra”…
Located at about 32 kilometers from the city, the charismatic garden is enticing tourists and visitors to conquer the long travel just to witness its glamour.
The name “Buwakan ni Alejandra” (Alejandra’s Flower Farm) was derived from the Visayan word “buwak” which means “flower” and Alejandra is the name of the mother-in-law of the owner and landscaper, Eleuterio Getapa. The name was given in honor of Alejandra’s love for flowers.
The vibrancy colors of the plants and flowers is heavenly created. One usually thinks of just a handful of variety and colors. But in Buwakan ni Alejandra plants are placed in a way that each variety will stand out and would create a very beautiful contrast.
Since it is located in a high land, the temperature is colder.
If you're a flower lover or nature lover, you'll look forward walking around the farm. Also, you can ask assistance from their jolly caretakers to give you a tour and also take pictures of you with the flowers.
You must follow their rules. This is to help preserve and protect the flowers and give respect to the people who are maintaining the place.
The greenery of the mountains is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life. The colors, natural breeze, and the unspoiled silence that only nature can give will give a different kind of peace and relaxation.
Don’t get me wrong – it’s great, lovely and Instagram-worthy.
As a matter of fact, it may be one of the prettier and more picturesque flower farms in Cebu. Maybe, I was just expecting too much, after seeing those drone shots.
And, we all know that almost everything looks stunning when seen from a bird’s perspective.
I found Buwakan ni Alejandra fairly beautiful and charming. Sure, it’s not the most spectacular sight I’ve seen, but it still did unleash my inner shutterbug.

Very beautiful flowers are seen in this field. The farm is also a very good place for walking. We also have fields there but we grow grains there. Seeing such fields made me want to plant flowers.
