🥇 Monsanto - Historic Village - Part 1 / Riding Portugal by @onyfest

We arrived in Monsanto, the most Portuguese village in Portugal. As we travel along the national road we see the little houses perched on a granite slope in the distance! Simply breathtaking for all the reasons and then some. Full of history and culture. We came with expectations but they were all exceeded. Through Booking we managed to find a small house right in the center of the village, completely restored in granite and where each floor corresponded to a room.

🥈 The Waterfall of The St. Beatus Caves - Switzerland by @priyanarc

On the second day in Switzerland, we began by exploring Lauterbrunnen and its nearby waterfall and cave. Later, we headed to the St. Beatus Caves. Though I was unaware at the time, the St. Beatus Caves are among the ten largest caves in Switzerland and a popular tourist attraction. My initial interest in this spot was flared by its picturesque waterfall, not the caves themselves. Located near Interlaken, on the shores of the gorgeous Lake Thun, this destination turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

🥉 Time Travel - A Day in Pompeii, Italy by @sararossi

When we arrived in Pompeii experts at the station greeted us and directed us there. Pompeii is not just an archaeological excavation site. It's also a modern city. Pompeii, a young city grew up next to these ruins only 150 years ago. It started as a village around a Catholic shrine and became an independent municipality in 1928. Today Pompeii is home to approximately 27.000 people. The city is beloved by pilgrims who come to visit the Madonna del Rosario shrine. However the city is much more valuable for tourists and large numbers of tourists come here to see the excavations of ancient Pompeii. From what I understand, the modern city mainly serves this tourist center, offering souvenirs, dining options for tourists and bed & breakfast accommodations.
