Hello, friends. I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It towers proudly above the village of Staro Stefanovo,near the town of Lovech, Bulgaria. Its tall spires are clearly visible from every point of the village and beyond.
Здравейте,приятели.Наскоро имах удоволствието да посетя църквата „Рождество на Пресвета Богородица”.Тя се извисява гордо над село Старо Стефаново,близо до град Ловеч,България.Нейните високо кобета се виждат ясно от всяка точка на селото а и не само.
The church is old and incredibly beautiful both outside and inside.
Църквата е стара и невероятно красива както отвън така и от вътре.
The construction dates back to around 1880, as it is said to be the work of master Usta Gencho Kanev - "The Great". The funds for the construction were collected entirely from local donors. The permission for the construction was documented and allowed with a sultan's firman as early as 1864. in 1873 construction began when the temple was opened and consecrated in 1891.
Строителството и се датира около 1880 година като се твърди че е дело на майстор Уста Генчо Кънев - "Големия".Средствата за изграждането и са събрани изцяло от местни дарители.Разрешението за строителството и е документирано и позволено със султански ферман още през 1864г.Едва през 1873г. строителството започва като храмът е открит и осветен през 1891г.
The temple is quite lavishly painted by the artist Ruselim Dichev, who is a migrant in the village.
Храмът е доста пишно изографисан от художник Руселим Дичев които е преселник в селото.
The feast of the church is celebrated on September 8 - the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Then the traditional assembly is held in the village. At the time, there was also a cell school in the courtyard of the church, of which, unfortunately, there is no longer any memory.
Празникът на храма се чества на 8 септември - Рождество на Пресвета Богородица.Тогава се прави и традиционният збор в селото.На времето в двора на църквата се е намирало и килиийно училище от което за жалост вече няма и помен.
