Good beautiful PINMAPPLE community.
Cuba, a country located in the Caribbean, has very incredible beaches and each of them has something incredible to offer, on this occasion I have had the pleasure of visiting the beach of María la Gorda, in the westernmest area of the country, Pinar del Rio.
This is a destination well known for being an international diving center and for its incredible natural beauty. Join me on this trip and discover some of the things that this beautiful beach has to offer.
Let’s start!!
The road was a little long, it is about two hours less from the center of Pinar del Rio, the trip is a little tiring because the road is not in very good condition but it is very worth going.
Something to say that this beach belongs to the Guanahacabibes peninsula declared as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO since 1987, an incredible destination for lovers of nature, ecotourism and water activities such as scuba diving.
María la Gorda beach
Until we finally arrived, when we saw the beach we completely loved its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, surrounded by exuberant vegetation full of green tones making a beautiful contrast with the beautiful blue of the Caribbean Sea and the sky, turning it into a beautiful landscape.

The beach has a beautiful white sand and you usually find small hermit crabs better known in Cuba as “macao” walking widely.
Once we elected the place where we were going to be, we left quickly to the place where they provide the services, we only went for one day, so the only thing we could do was snorkel.
But for people who want it, this place has accommodation, it has two-storey cabins with good conditions and beautiful wooden cabins in a kind of mini jungle, since you can pay to do the different diving courses that last several days minimum, and you can opt for a certificate issued by the World Confederation of Underwater Activities.
In addition to being able to go by boat and contemplate some more private and exotic places, some of the best in the Caribbean among them “The Black Coral Valley” one of the largest black coral surfaces in the country.
In addition, in all these arecifes you can see incredible seabeds full of colorful corals and a wide variety of marine species.
They were also doing a fishing event, but I preferred to go to the water and see what the sea had from below.
Unfortunately the camera I took got stuck and I was just able to take a couple of photos entering the sea when I was testing it, I had to take it out because for some reason the photos went wrong, that gave me a lot of low because I couldn’t keep any memories of the things I saw.
At least I stay with that I could enjoy it, the pier where the boats anchored was full of weights, incredible what you see, a great variety of all sizes and colors, there was an immense fish tank thrown by humans, incredible without more.
The beach is very deep from close up, only a few meters from the sand I couldn’t stand, the first song was told to me by the divers who work there is about 100 meters from the shore, but I didn’t get there.
It is incredible just about fifty meters from the shore there is already about 15 meters deep and you can see its stones with their corals only making acnea you can see very beautiful things.
As if to end the day, the rain was coming and we had to get out of the water, because it is not advisable to be in the sea in that state, we could see how the boats came in the distance with the savannah of water behind, it gave us a little sad because we had to finish but the view looked incredible, nature that sometimes teaches us that you can’t go.
María la Gorda beach
The beach also has its terrace overlooking the sea with a bar where you can have a delicious Caribbean cocktail while observing the beautiful landscape or a parrila where you can eat good dishes with a good variety, in addition to a restaurant for Swedish table guests, and another more elegant seafood restaurant overlooking the sea, everything you need if you are a lover of the sea and diving.
I hope you enjoyed this travel experience as much as I did. Maybe later you will visit these places on your own. There is always something new to discover in every place, something different to explore. I hope you live your own adventure and enjoy it as I have done.
Chao Chao…
