Happy weekend everyone! Hopefully, you've already had a wonderful week. After a week of hard work, it's time to unwind and relax. What do you plan to do in your spare time? For the weekend, I want to spend time with my family and friends, as well as writing. But today, I remembered spending the last afternoon of the year with a friend in Hoi An, so I took the opportunity to write about that wandering afternoon.
As you may know, I lived in Da Nang for 5 years, and Hoi An is the city close to Da Nang that belongs to Quang Nam province. Therefore, I frequently visited Hoi An, making it a significant location for me. When I left Da Nang to relocate to Gia Lai province, Hoi An was one of the places I remember the most. And that afternoon will never leave out of my mind.
It was the afternoon after I concluded my last day of work for the year. After finishing my work, I drove my friend to Hoi An to celebrate the end of the year. We are very familiar with Hoi An and enjoy visiting it. It has an indescribably wonderful old beauty. Every time I come here, I feel a sense of serenity and tranquility that I can't get anywhere else.
We stepped into a coffee shop to drink coffee while watching the streets of Hoi An in the final days of the year. The final days of the year are generally busy and rushed, as everyone tries to complete their job for the year in order to greet the new year. But in Hoi An, everything is quiet, there is no hustle and bustle, and it is not as busy as it is in other areas during the latter days of the year. I even had a sense that it was more peaceful than other days of the year.
The weather is fantastic; it is slightly sunny with a touch of winter cold. It was sunny that day, but the afternoon sun was mild, making the winter chill bearable. In fact, everything here is fantastic, from the weather to the space. That's why I can't get that afternoon out of my mind.
We took a walk along the banks of the Thu Bon River after leaving the cafe; the river was still running softly, with colorful boats decorated with lanterns. Because fewer tourists visit during this season, the river is quieter than ever. At this moment, there are only a few boats on the river taking tourists to see the ancient town. I sat and gazed at the quiet river, which was so lovely.
That was my last great afternoon of the year with my friend in Hoi An's ancient town. Have you got a favorite place story you'd like to tell me? If you have, please share it with me in the comment section! Thank you for spending your time to read my post, love you all so much, and see you in the next post.
