My post on this occasion I share about our climb to Mount Peut Sagoe a few months ago. Mount Peut Sagoe, located in Geumpang District, Pidie Regency, Aceh, is one of the climbing destinations that offers stunning natural beauty as well as challenges for climbers. With a height of around 2,780 meters above sea level, this mountain is one of the highest peaks in Aceh which has its own appeal for nature and adventure lovers.

Mount Peut Sagoe is known for its natural panorama which is still very beautiful and natural. The hiking trail is decorated by dense tropical forest, with various unique flora and fauna. One of the main attractions of this mountain is the beauty of its peak which provides extraordinary views, including the expanse of other mountains in Aceh and even the Indian Ocean in the distance.

The name Peut Sagoe itself has a deep meaning. In Acehnese, Peut means four and Sagoe means edge. This name describes the mountain which consists of four main peaks, each of which has its own uniqueness.

The climb to Mount Peut Sagoe generally starts from Blang Dalam Village, Geumpang. This village is the gateway for climbers who want to conquer the peak of Peut Sagoe. The journey to this village can be taken using two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles from Sigli, the capital of Pidie Regency, with a travel time of around 4-5 hours.

The climbing route is quite challenging with varying terrain, ranging from dirt roads, small rivers, to rocky climbs. The average climbing time to the peak takes 2-3 days, depending on weather conditions and the climber's stamina. Therefore, physical and logistical preparation is very important before starting the journey.

When you successfully reach the peak of Mount Peut Sagoe, all the fatigue during the journey will be paid off. From the top, climbers can enjoy spectacular views of the sunrise or sunset. The clear sky will show the expanse of green mountains.
