Continuando mi visita a la ciudad de Caracas, en mi interés por seguir conociendo espacios públicos y de trascendencia histórica en la capital del país, he llegado a la Plaza Alí Primera, un patrimonio cultural que data de hace más de dos siglos y que ha tenido varias denominaciones hasta el día de hoy.
Ubicada en el Municipio Libertador, Parroquia Santa Teresa, destaca por sus límites geográficos, ya que al sur se encuentra El Teatro Nacional y al norte la Basílica Santa Teresa, y esto la convierte en un espacio de encuentro de los transeúntes que se dirigen a sus encuentros religiosos en la iglesia, y los y los amantes del arte que van al teatro.

Continuing my visit to the city of Caracas, in my interest to continue knowing public spaces and historical significance in the capital of the country, I have come to the Plaza Alí Primera, a cultural heritage that dates back more than two centuries and has had several denominations until today.
Located in the Libertador Municipality, Santa Teresa Parish, it stands out for its geographical limits, since to the south is the National Theater and to the north is the Basilica Santa Teresa, and this makes it a meeting place for passersby who go to their religious meetings in the church, and art lovers who go to the theater.
Se puede percibir como un recinto que genera un espacio de forma rectangular y su trazado se basa en un esquema de cruz, asociado a la circulación de los peatones. Dentro de ese trazado se detallan cuatro zonas de vegetación hacia cada esquina protegidas por medianos cercos de concreto que al igual que los bancos que en ella hay (del mismo material) sirven de asiento a los visitantes, los cuales pueden disfrutar de un descanso ameno, puesto que el espacio cuenta además con frondosos árboles en su interior y laterales.
Esta plaza por poseer un modelo de carácter parroquial cuenta con escaleras rectangulares internas, que dan paso como especie de corredor al Teatro Nacional y áreas adyacentes.

This square has a model of parish character with internal rectangular stairs, which give way as a kind of corridor to the National Theater and adjacent areas.
Históricamente la plaza cuenta con un relato interesante.
Fundada hace casi dos siglos y medio (1777) ha recibido diversos nombres.
En 1888 se le da el nombre de Plaza Gerorge Washington, en honor al primer presidente de los EEUU. Pasados 40 años (1928) en medio de sus jardines se erige el busto de Henry Clay (político estadounidense) y se le otorga ese mismo nombre.
Casi 50 años más tarde con motivo del centenario de la Basílica de Sata Teresa se le cambia el nombre a Plaza Pedro Sojo; hasta que finalmente el 16 de julio de 2011 se reinaugura con el nombre de Palaza Alí Primera
Por ello en la actualidad en el centro de la plaza se encuentra busto que se erigió en honor a este cantautor venezolano de música de protesta, construido en material resistente al cambio de temperaturas, ya que en el años 2017 el busto anterior fue aplastado por un árbol.
En la base sobre la cual está colocado el busto (base de concreto) se puede observar una placa que registra el nombre completo del artista, lugar y fecha de nacimiento y muerte de este cantante falconiano. De allí deriva que en la vegetación contenida en la plaza lo que se ha recreado es el paisajismo del estado Falcón, entre las cuales destacan plantas conocidas como cucaracha, maní forrajero, buches, agaves y cactus, asemejandose así a la diversidad falconiana.

Founded almost two and a half centuries ago (1777), it has received several names.
In 1888 it was given the name of George Washington Square, in honor of the first president of the United States. After 40 years (1928) a bust of Henry Clay (American politician) was erected in the middle of its gardens and it was given the same name.
Almost 50 years later, on the occasion of the centenary of the Basilica of Santa Teresa, the name was changed to Plaza Pedro Sojo; until finally on July 16, 2011 it was reinaugurated with the name of Palaza Ali Primera.
That is why at present in the center of the square is located bust that was erected in honor of this Venezuelan singer-songwriter of protest music, built in material resistant to temperature change, since in the years 2017 the previous bust was crushed by a tree.
On the base on which the bust is placed (concrete base) you can see a plaque that records the full name of the artist, place and date of birth and death of this falconian singer. From there it derives that in the vegetation contained in the square what has been recreated is the landscaping of the state of Falcon, among which stand out plants known as cucaracha, forage peanuts, buches, agaves and cactus, resembling the Falconian diversity.
