This adventure was in the Pyramids of Teotihuacan.
I confess that I saw the trip to this place as very difficult or to put it in a better way, I never thought to be in one of the most emblematic places of the Aztec country and here there are many.
I must say that I came to this place by an invitation from a Cuban colleague who has been living in the country for 4 years and, like me, is an emigrant.
After meeting again through the social network Facebook she asked me where I was and I told her my place of residence in Guanajuato, while she told me that she lives in the state of Mexico and it was undeniable to ask her if she had ever visited the Pyramids of Teotihuacan.
To my surprise, she told me that she had and that she could invite me because it was a place of public access and in fact, one of the busiest places in the country, making it a tourist destination of great importance.
So, without thinking about it, I started this week on my way to the state of Mexico and after a day of rest we headed to our pyramid.
It was a day of much learning, of asking and learning, of trying to take a piece of Mesoamerican history with me and to appreciate how our ancestors were able to make such incredible works of art with their hands, in a time when there was not so much development or not compared to what we have today.
Despite the time in which it was built, which dates back many years and the deterioration suffered, this is a wonder of humanity that is part of the culture of this country.
During the tour we learned many things we did not know.

The Archaeological Zone of Teotihuacan is located in the state of Mexico and is considered one of the most important pre-Hispanic sites discovered to date. It is material testimony of one of the best planned and extensive pre-Hispanic cities of the ancient world.
It is a symbol of cultural, artistic, religious, political and social development of the Mesoamerican culture, and even after its abandonment continues to be the object of collective symbolic construction. Because of its historical, cultural and educational values, it is not only the most visited archaeological site in Mexico, but it has consolidated as an international tourist destination.
Another element that demonstrates its universal importance is that it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and, according to this recognition, it can be said that it has all the elements for which this United Nations organization grants such condition.

When we finished the trip, I was more in love with this country and I told my friend that I would have to come back again, to enjoy more of the whole place, because now, between the amazement, the admiration, the questions and the desire to know, I could not enjoy as much as I wanted to of this historic place.

Esta aventura vivida fue en las Pirámides de Teotihuacán.
Confieso que veía el viaje a este lugar como muy difícil o para decirlo de una mejor manera, nunca pensé estar en uno de los lugares más emblemáticos del país azteca y aquí hay muchísimos.
Debo decir que llegué a este lugar por una invitación de una colega cubana que lleva viviendo 4 años en el país y, al igual que yo, es una emigrante.
Después de reencontrarnos por la red social Facebook, me preguntó dónde estaba y le dije mi lugar de residencia en Guanajuato, mientras ella me dijo que vive en el estado de México y fue innegable preguntarle si había visitado alguna vez las Pirámides de Teotihuacán.
Para mi sorpresa, me dijo que sí y que podía invitarme porque era un lugar de acceso al público y, de hecho, uno de los lugares más concurridos del país, por lo que es un destino turístico de gran importancia.
Así que, sin pensarlo, esta semana la comencé rumbo al estado de México y después de un día de descanso nos dirigimos a nuestra pirámide.
Fue una jornada de mucho aprendizaje, de preguntar y aprender, de tratar de llevarme un pedazo de la historia mesoamericana conmigo y de apreciar cómo nuestros antepasados pudieron hacer obras de artes tan increíbles con sus manos, en una época donde no había tanto desarrollo o no comparado con el que tenemos hoy.
A pesar del tiempo en que se construyó que data de muchísimos años y del deterioro sufrido, esta es una maravilla de la humanidad que es parte de la cultura de este país.
En el recorrido nos enteramos de muchas cosas que desconocíamos.
Por ejemplo:
La Zona Arqueológica de Teotihuacán se localiza en el estado de México y es considerado uno de los sitios prehispánicos más importantes descubiertos hasta el día de hoy. Es testimonio material de una de las ciudades prehispánicas mejor planificadas y extensas del mundo antiguo.
Es un símbolo de desarrollo cultural, artístico, religioso, político y social de la cultura mesoamericana, y que aun después de su abandono continúa siendo objeto de la construcción simbólica colectiva. Por sus valores históricos, culturales y educativos, no solo es el sitio arqueológico más visitado en México, sino que se ha consolidado como un destino turístico internacional.
Otro elemento que demuestra su importancia universal es que es Patrimonio Universal de la UNESCO y, según este reconocimiento, se puede decir que tiene todos los elementos por los que esta organización de las Naciones Unidas otorga tal condición.
