Trip to Havana, City of Contrasts

in Worldmappinlast month

Hello my people, today I wanted to talk to you about my trip to the capital of all Cubans, Havana. In a certain sense, this was a trip of reconciliation. For a long time, in my memory, this city was nothing more than a bad memory of my adolescence. A city populated by people who lived very fast, with garbage and very conceited for the me of that time.

From that time, one could say that the only thing in common was the garbage, which is everywhere in this city, which contrasts greatly with its great architectural works and the art that can be seen everywhere, curiously almost always in the form of graffiti and one artist in particular, Taiko.

But this Havana showed me another face, one perhaps friendlier or maybe it was me who had already taken the rhythm of such a huge city. As justification, I went to receive a course in narrative techniques (another story that I will tell you later) which was the perfect excuse for many reunions.

Friends from many years ago who had migrated from my hometown to the capital or others that I had only met digitally, all with the best energies in the world and tight hugs, that was this trip. Discovering Havana nights in its cafes and small bohemian bars.

My tour of Old Havana was unforgettable, an old city, but one that vibrated with the energy of young people from all over the world who came in a certain way to see the utopia that never was.

Beautiful little corners away from the world that seemed out of time, that was Havana. That contrasted with the large metal and glass hotels scattered throughout the city, destroying the landscape, inappropriate for a city like that, but omnipotent.

Havana seemed like a party, a big party where modernity, graffiti, hotels, garbage, tourists and the prettiest girls in Cuba, everything flows into a sea that, apart from the hugs that I will always take with me, also filled me with nostalgia.

"the utopia that never was", what a great way to call a country like this. I live in Venezuela, and in certain way is kind of similar.

Beautiful places though.

Is really...
