Going for a walk is one of the things I like the most, even if they are small walks is good to be able to refresh the view with new spaces is something that I like a lot, and this time we went for a few laps to the state of Guarico and of course we had to go through the municipality Zamora which is where this small town called Villa de Cura is located, which belongs to the state of Aragua.
Villa de Cura is well known for
its economic activity such as saddlery, I really like the work they do here, they work very well with leather, they make excellent espadrilles, saddles for horses, hats, belts and other things, when we have passed and asked for prices they are not as cheap as one might think, although this time we did not go down to see or ask prices.
Arriving at the square we went down for a while to see how it was, something I love to do when arriving at a city or town, since the Villa as it is best known is a small town where there is its Bolivar street and there of course is its square and in front of the square the church, I really like these colonial squares, it makes me sit for a while and spend a good time watching the people pass, the only bad thing about the time we went at 1.30pm was not time to be in that square since there are no trees that give so much shade, perhaps at night it is very different.
When you see the square there are some letters that say the name of Villa de Cura, unmissable to take some pictures and we did, immediately something you can not miss is the imposing church, a great architectural work dating from 1722, and was declared a national monument in 1960, it really is a beautiful work to admire although it was closed I do not know if it still opens its doors, but if the outside is beautiful inside for sure it must be.
We went to the back part of the cave but we could not go through because there were people doing an act there, however I could see a sculpture that I imagined was a fountain at some point, surely at some point it attracted a lot of attention, it has an eagle posing on top and below some faces, I imagine where the water came out, I liked it a lot.
From there we went to the Calvary steps, this was a place of grazing my husband tells me that he knows a little more than me, however we did not go all the way up because we did not want to leave the vehicle there, so we only got off to take some pictures, and on the walls you can see some images, I do not know much about the history of these steps but I know it is a place of pilgrimage for Catholics and on special dates.
This was a little walk through this beautiful town of Villa de Cura, I hope you like the photos I have brought you, until a future publication.
