RE: THE FISH RIVER CANYON: Travel & Day 1 Hiking

in Worldmappin2 years ago

Hi! I’ve done a few multiday hikes over the last year and a half but I only had to carry this big bag on Two of them. The bag is a 50L + 10L so it’s 60L if fully packed. It weighed about 15kgs this time which is heavy for me. But we had to carry everything that we needed. Clothes, sleeping bag, blanket, inflatable matress, drop sheet, food for 5 days, small gas cooker, toiletries and tech stuff like, phone battery charger and a spade. It was a challenge to pack as smart as we could, but it worked out well. The bag gets lighter every day as you eat the food 😜

Wow. 15kgs is no joke, You go girl! Can't wait to read the rest of your 4 day adventure. It gets me pump up for the major hike I've been long planning.

Oh exciting!! I’ve got 2 more multiday hikes booked for this year but both are slackpacking so I won’t have to carry a heavy bag! 😜
