El Ikigai invita a hurgar en nuestro interior para determinar aquello que nos gusta, en lo que somos buenos, por lo que nos pagarían y lo que consideramos que la sociedad necesita y donde podemos aportar. Conocer estos aspectos nos ayuda a definir la profesión a seguir y en ella vamos a encontrar satisfacción.

Mi vocación siempre estuvo ligada a la enseñanza y como tal escogí la carrera docente donde encontré grandes satisfacciones. Me encantaba ver como cada niño iba reconstruyendo el conocimiento, buscar estrategias para que su aprendizaje fuese significativo y a partir de lo nuevo, para él, pudiese interesarse en conocer más.

My vocation was always linked to teaching and as such I chose the teaching career where I found great satisfaction. I loved to see how each child was reconstructing knowledge, looking for strategies to make his learning meaningful and from what was new for him, he could be interested in learning more.
Sin embargo, así como la enseñanza me apasionaba también estaba presente una pasión creativa distinta, el trabajo artesanal, específicamente la orfebrería. Una actividad que logré hacer, más como un hooby que profesionalmente. Hoy en día pienso que si tuviese la oportunidad de cambiar de carrera desde el primer momento me iría por la orfebrería.
La orfebrería, el arte de transformar un trozo de metal en algo hermoso, hacer con tus manos cosas bellas, es una labor si se quiere “dura y sucia”, como me la definió alguien, pero al mismo tiempo es creativa y delicada. En la medida en que te vas sumergiendo en este hacer se vuelven infinitas las posibilidades, le das rienda suelta a tu imaginación y buscas la técnica para llevar lo que esta en tu mente a la realidad; este hecho es apasionante y encuentro en él una gran satisfacción.

An activity that I managed to do, more as a hobby than professionally. Today I think that if I had the opportunity to change career from the first moment I would go for goldsmithing.
Goldsmithing, the art of transforming a piece of metal into something beautiful, making beautiful things with your hands, is a "hard and dirty" job, as someone defined it, but at the same time it is creative and delicate. As you immerse yourself in this work, the possibilities become infinite, you give free rein to your imagination and you look for the technique to bring what is in your mind to reality; this fact is exciting and I find great satisfaction in it.
