What are your current values in life?

To talk about the values that characterize me is to return to the past, to my training at home and at school. It is to mention all those people, family and friends in particular, who influenced my life in a positive way.

To emphasize the religious formation that I received in my childhood, has great transcendence in the values that I practice today, my actions are governed by moral and ethical principles, and without being perfect, I adhere to them fully avoiding situations that go against my beliefs, education, etc. Next, I present the values that actuallity I consider pillars in my life.

¿Cuáles son sus valores actuales en la vida?

Hablar de los valores que me caracterizan, es regresar al pasado, a mi formación en el hogar y en el colegio. Es hacer mención a todas aquellas personas, familiares y amigos en especial, que influyeron en mi vida de manera positiva.

Destacar la formación religiosa que recibí en mi niñez, tiene gran trascendencia en los valores que hoy practico, mis acciones son regidas por principios morales y éticos, y sin ser perfecto, me apego a ellos a plenitud evitando situaciones que vayan en contra de mis creencias, educación, etc. A continuación, presento los valores que actualmente considero pilares en mi vida.

Love is one of the most important values, it allows us to have clear the difference between good and evil, it is a force that drives and motivates us to act correctly and fairly.

In general, my actions are signs of love for others. Although the economic crisis and the pandemic test my capacity to love, I always resort to my principles, and after reflection and/or meditation I continue to advance firmly and faithfully to that great value, at the end of the day I feel the joy that comes from loving your neighbor as yourself.

El amor es uno de los valores más importantes, nos permite tener clara la diferencia entre el bien y el mal, es una fuerza que nos impulsa y motiva a actuar de manera correcta y justa.

Por lo general, mis actos son muestras de amor al prójimo. Aunque la crisis económica y la pandemia pongan a prueba mi capacidad de amar, siempre recurro a mis principios, y luego de reflexionar y/o meditar sigo avanzando firme y fiel a ese gran valor, al final del día siento el regocijo que da amar a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.

Respect has allowed me to recognize, accept, appreciate and value the qualities of others and their rights. In the same way, it allows me to have and give myself value.

Today, this value has been tested daily, along with my tolerance. It is not easy for many to face the reality we live, especially for us Venezuelans, and they tend to exploit in an aggressive or offensive way towards others. That is where the ability to calmly assume the situation and avoid falling into provocations comes into play.

El respeto me ha permitido reconocer, aceptar, apreciar y valorar las cualidades de otros y sus derechos. De la misma manera, me permite tener y darme valor propio.

Actualmente este valor he puesto a prueba a diario, junto a mi tolerancia. No es fácil para muchos afrontar la realidad que vivimos, especialmente para nosotros los venezolanos, y tienden a explotar de manera agresiva u ofensiva hacia los demás. Allí es donde entra en juego la capacidad de asumir con calma la situación y evitar caer en provocaciones.

Tolerance is a moral value that implies full respect for the other, for their ideas, practices or beliefs, customs, culture, sexuality, among others, regardless of whether they clash or are different from ours.

It is the full acceptance of the differences existing in society, and although I must admit that it has been difficult for me to be tolerant in the past, today I enjoy it, day after day I am exceeding my limits and I am proud to say that my level of tolerance is broad.

La tolerancia es un valor moral que implica el respeto íntegro hacia el otro, hacia sus ideas, prácticas o creencias, costumbres, cultura, sexualidad, entre otras, independientemente de que choquen o sean diferentes de las nuestras.

Es la aceptación plena de las diferencias existentes en la sociedad, y aunque debo reconocer que me ha costado ser tolerante en el pasado, hoy gozo de ella, día tras día voy superando mis limites y me enorgullezco al decir que mi nivel de tolerancia es amplio.

Honesty in short and precise words for me, is synonymous with moral integrity. It has much to do with the principles of truth and justice. To be honest is to always seek to put truth first in thoughts, expressions and actions.

Although I find this a bit complicated, because there is a very fine line between being honest and being offensive. I must always think many times if it is better to keep silent or tell the truth, so I avoid situations that can generate conflict.

La honestidad en palabras cortas y precisas para mí, es sinónimo de integridad moral. Guarda mucha relación con los principios de verdad y justicia. Ser honesto es procurar siempre anteponer la verdad en los pensamientos, expresiones y acciones.

Aunque me resulta algo complicado, porque hay una línea muy delgada entre ser honesto y ser ofensivo. Siempre debo pensar muchas veces si es mejor guardar silencio o decir las verdades, así evito situaciones que puedan generar conflictos.

Justice is a virtue that all individuals must put into practice in a coherent manner and in pursuit of both their own and society's good. By assuming it as a value, we assume a moral principle with which we decide to live giving each one what corresponds or belongs to him/her.

To be just does not require a great effort, but we must consider that what represents justice for some, can be considered as injustice for others. In particular, I apply justice based on general arguments. However, I avoid judging others since I do not have that role.

La justicia es una virtud que todos los individuos debemos poner en práctica de manera coherente y en busca tanto del bien propio como de la sociedad. Al asumirla como valor, asumimos un principio moral con el cual decidimos vivir dando a cada quien lo que le corresponde o pertenece.

Ser justos no requiere mayor esfuerzo, pero debemos considerar que lo que representa justicia para unos, para otros puede ser considerado como injusticia. En lo particular, aplico la justicia basada en argumentos generales. No obstante, evito juzgar a otros ya que no me corresponde ese papel.
