With a background in education I know where you are coming from. The people in the education system do want to change the curriculum and want to shift towards equipping students with skills needed to function and thrive in this changing world, but there's only so much they can do. It's the government; and now I'm taking Suriname for example, because that's where I'm from; that needs to restructure the whole system and invest more in curriculum development for this changing world. That's because it's the government here that will authenticate diploma's and it's the government that needs to facilitate.
But back to skills of networking, budgeting, etc., a lot of people that I know get to learn all of those skills along the way when they get to join organizations like JCI, Rotaract, Lion's, etc. Of course it would be neat to learn about how to pay taxes in school, but I also realize that there's only so much school could teach you; limited time-frame. The purpose of an education is to prepare you for life in a way that you could learn efficiently, think logically, ability to do your own research, etc. Some things we need to learn ourselves or from our parents or those mentors around us.
Why do we keep blaming the gov? Self educate yourself to educate others (the key)
Yes that is true; start doing what we ourselves can do. Just like with Hive, if we waited on our government, we wouldn't be here at the moment.
