To start off the process I will introduce myself. I am @flemingfarm and have been a rock climber my entire life. I grew up at the entrance to Yosemite National Park and learned to climb on its immense walls. In reality I learned the basics of scrambling on a 100 foot rock face behind my childhood home, where I had too many close calls. Finally getting a climbing rack and gear on my 16th birthday lead me into a whole world of adventure that is the vertical life.

Over the years I have come and gone from the sport due to various circumstances but in the end I ALWAYS return to my true love, CLIMBING!

Now that I have a family and home and my climbing partner living nearby I have regained my devotion to the sport I love so much. Currently we have 8 climbing areas that we are actively developing. Last year saw us put up 3 new routes and anchors for another 5. Three miles north of my farm I have a bouldering area that I have developed with over 60 problems varying from 5.4 up to V4/5. As well as the real rock I am installing a climbing wall on the external walls of my house to have instant training ability without leaving the property.

Nothing makes me more scared, focused, intent, exhausted, and rarely as satisfied or proud as climbing!

SO HERE IS YOUR CHANCE!

Share with us your adventures in the vertical world whether indoors or out, rock or plastic or ice, mountains or caves, buildings or hills.

I didn't realise we'd got a climbing specific community. I've been posting over in Sports Talk. Are you so fitting a bit of climbing in?

With it being winter I don't get much chance to unless I head south out of the snow. I was camping by one of our walls a couple weeks ago and there was snow up to the 3rd bolt on one of our routes.

That sounds super cold! Even without the snow that deep I can imagine your fingers would be too cold for climbing.

Pretty much. We have had some winter climbing over the past few years but only on the warmest days. We are getting our schedules synced for this early summer when we will head to Washington Pass in the Cascades for a run up Liberty Crack and some other easier long routes.

Remember to take lots of photos!
