I believe primary school was a time we were the most silly. The chutzpah(oh I finally got to use that word) we had was unmatched.

And you know what, that was the period we were most petty. Very little things, very little, made us act up and summoned the inner ogbanje in us.
So I met this old classmate from primary school. Actually I was walking to get something from down the grocery store when I heard someone shout, "Monday!"..
I did not turn because that was not my name until someone tapped me and when I turned, It was this classmates from primary school. It was nice to see someone from that long. Although I was boiling on the inside yet I managed to smile. He said he had forgotten my name. He only remembered 'Monday.'
I’m was not surprised. If you were there in class that day when what happened, happened, you probably would call me Monday.
Of course, I'll tell.
When I was in Primary 3, our form master walked into class and asked what the first day of the week is. At first, the whole class was silent, then, one girl, AbigaiI - my rival then whom I disliked - said, "Sunday". Because I did not want to carry last, I me Iraisex my hand and said, "Monday." The next thing, the whole class erupted in sidetalks and murmuring. No one said anything to agree or disagree audibly.
The teacher then asked that myself and the girl come out and stand in opposite sides of the class with those who agree with Sunday, standing beside her and those who agree with Monday, beside me. More than half the class stood by her. Actually, only three people stood by me.
You know what was most annoying? All of the smart kids stood by her. It was the backbenchers, the senior-comrades in dunce-ism that stood by me. I kbegan saying, "..it's Monday" "Monday!" "Monday!!" He went along to say that the girl was correct and Sunday is the right answer and another round of noise filled the class.
That girl and her gang laughed me to filth. That did not bother me too much but when we were asked to return to our seats, I went to my seatpartner who did not stand by me, to collect my biro I dashed him the previous week.
When I was asked to write the 'names of noisemakers' few days later, even after we had gone back to buddies, I wrote their names and added "×10" beside each name. They did not make noise sha. Okay, only small. When the teacher read out their names, the shock on their faces and the punishment they recieved was enough bliss for me. Atleast, I had equalized. What other satisfaction surpasses that one??
