We played with plenty of firecrackers around here, and I have a similar story to share!
Because I am a very quiet person, I have a tendency to scare and startle the people I live with. Not on purpose, they just can't hear me moving around, so they get startled if they see me in the kitchen when they thought I was still in my room.
Even though I don't do this on purpose, people are always trying to 'get back' at me by scaring me. They have to try extra hard, because I don't startle easily. One time, shortly after my high school graduation, my stepfather and brothers conspired to give me a good scare. My brothers called me into the garage, and stepfather was waiting to toss a whole pack of firecrackers my way! I heard and saw the sparks of the fuse coming my way and dodged, but when I did, the whole pack of lit firecrackers got tangled in my hair! When those firecrackers started popping off in my hair, I thought for sure I was going to die from the noise and smoke!
Needless to say, I was VERY scared, and startled, and more than a little angry! My whole family was still apologizing when I could finally hear again! They were all so scared about how wrong their prank had gone, they couldn't even enjoy their victory 🤣
Stealth mode: that's what I call moving around without being heard😅.
Fire crackers in your hair?! Now that's the proper definition of prank gone wrong. That moment after the noise from the fire crackers when everything just stands still and you're just numb.
Did it cause any permanent damage tho?
Nah, just messed up my hair, and left my ears ringing for a couple days. My hair grew back, and I can still hear better than most people.
I definitely would not sign up to go through that again, though! It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life, and I've had more than a handful of terrifying experiences!
I can only imagine how you felt. Probably thinking that you're going to die the next minute while still struggling to get the firecrackers out of your hair...
Not totally bald, just very... punk rock. They gave me a very haphazard haircut just below the neck. 😂
As I tried getting them out of my hair, they were popping against my fingers, which felt like getting my hands struck with a cane. It makes for a great story now, but at the time, NOBODY was laughing!
Oh no 😂 😂
This story keeps getting worse😅. No wonder they were apologizing so much.
