There was thus young lad living next to us, I would call him Timmy, who absolutely hated taking medicine. His parents had tried everything – bribing him with candy, hiding it in his favourite foods, and even making up stories about how the medicine would give him superpowers. But no matter what they did, Timmy would refuse to take his medicine.
Many episodes of what we termed as ‘medicine wars’ always ended with loud wails, Timmy running out of the house, his large head bobbing side to side, with a tear stained face and bare bottoms, arms and legs flaying in the wind as he runs away from the house for his dear life.
Anyone who saw this boy would think that the poor child has terrorists as parents
“Oh poor child! What terror he must be facing!” says sympathisers down the street.
With each passing day, it became increasingly difficult for his parents to handle him. Even syrup was not acceptable, no matter how flavoured or sweetened, as far as the label looks medic, Timmy will break out in a hundred yard race, as if he was escaping the Shawshank prison.
Timmy has an incredible talent of differentiating soft drinks and medicine. How he could tell which from which baffles the family members, for a four year old. Once his parents promises him a soft drink, he stands by and watch them dispense the drink in a cup, to make sure, no drop of medicine enters inside. His parents had used the medicine in soda trick before and it didn’t end well. He threw everything up.

Exasperated, Timmy’s mother came up with a plan. She told her husband of her ingenious idea about how to give Timmy his medication whenever he falls sick. There was this milk and chocolate candy that was scoop able with little spoons. Very creamy and delicious. Every Child back then could not go a day without having one. The outer part is covered with foil, that you can either tear or roll halfway open before you consume the creamy delight.
That candy was Timmy’s favourite. At close observation, that was the only candy that Timmy takes without close scrutiny to see if it was laced. Timmy’s mommy now waited for the next opportunity.
They also remembered Timmy’s greatest fear. Ojuju bogeyman from ojuju land. Timmy developed this fear from the unreal characters of the tin man and the green faced wizard from the famous movie, ‘The Wizard of Oz’. The Tin man scared Timmy because of his metallic body and round eyes while the wizard was just too green in appearance, coupled with his raspy voice and maniacal laughter that sends Timmy under his bedsheets. The land of Oz was obviously ojuju land. Timmy was always afraid of taken to ojuju land and that was how to get him to behave.
Timmy’s father suggested they combine the candy and Ojuju bogeyman strategy to get Timmy to take his medicine. And guess what? It worked! Albeit in a funny manner.
One day, on Timmy’s sick day, his parents got a new type of medicine that they thought Timmy would love – it was bubblegum-flavored!
They eagerly brought it home and showed it to Timmy, but he still refused to take it. “I don’t care what flavour it is, I’m not taking it!” he stubbornly declared.
His parents were at their wits’ end. They knew that Timmy needed to take his medicine to get better, but they couldn’t force him to swallow it. So, they remembered their plan.
They told Timmy that they had a special treat for him – that delicious creamy candy that he absolutely loved. Timmy was excited and eagerly asked for it.
They quickly emptied a capsule inside the creamy candy and covered it with chocolate and handed it over to him.
Timmy eagerly popped the “candy” into his mouth and started to eat. At first, it tasted pretty good – sweet, creamy, chocolatey, just like his favourite candy. But as he continued to chew, he started to notice a strange, bitter sweet aftertaste. It grew stronger and stronger until Timmy was practically gagging.
“Yuck! What is this?” he cried, spitting out the pill. His parents couldn’t help but laugh as they revealed the truth – it was his medicine, disguised as candy.
Timmy was upset at first, but he soon realized that his parents had tricked him for a good reason. And even though the medicine left a terrible taste in his mouth, he knew that he needed to take it to get better.
He stubbornly wanted to refuse furthermore eating but he earned a stern look from his father who dared him to try it and get punished.
From that day on, he was a little more willing to take his medicine – as long as it was placed in his chocolate and milk creamy candy. With a mixed look on his face, he eats his bittersweet candy with a mantra repeated by his dad,
“Medicine is good for you Timmy, I said medicine is what?!”
“Good for me” Timmy would respond sullenly, his throat half choked with tears
“If I do not take my medicine...?”
“Ojuju bogeyman will be under my bed” Timmy would cry
“What will Ojuju bogeyman do to you...?”
“He will drag me under the bed and take me to ojuju land” Timmy would finish his response wailing.
From a treat, Timmy got Tricked! Hahaha!
Whenever he was reminded of his episode with his medicine, candy and ojuju bogeyman as he grew older, he became embarrassed bur would laugh it off. How children do odd things to get their way is phenomenal.

really!😂😂😂
how?
Lolz, Timmy father add some punishment, if Timmy did not take his meds, and it makes Timmy to behaves, if the father didn't do that, he wouldn't have cooperate, children's can be so stubborn, when it comes to taken medicine, the Land of Oz make many children's scared.
Exactly,it's so much important to know your child weak point as a mother and father cause you might use this for other children AMD they will never be fucked with it. knowing your child is just so much important to parents
