There once lived a mice and some animals who use to play around every day, they played without having any hate for each other, one bad day came which ruined the mice good mood, the mice was on a walk around the compound of his house owners be noticed they brought with them a box which looked odd so he waited patiently for the owners to unbox the package and he was surprised to see that the package was filled with mice traps.

On seeing this he leaped and ran to where his friends were and shared what he saw with them, he came across the lamb first and said to him

"Am worried the owners of this compound bought mice traps, am afraid of my life as it's at risk".

The lamb just told him to be more careful and went his way out, the mice then head on to visit the others and hear what they have to say.

He hastened his footsteps to meet his other friends and came across the hen and said to her;

"Am worried the owners of this compound bought mice traps, am afraid of my life as it's at risk"

The hen just replied and say, how does that relate to me, the only advice I can offer to you is to stay indoors for now.

The mice was not pleased with the reply he got from his friends, so he decided to try his last luck and visited the cow who was his last hope, he got there and met the cow eating some grasses in the field so he approached the cow and repeated the statement;

"Am worried the owners of this compound bought mice traps, am afraid of my life as it's at risk"

The cow replied, what do mice traps have to do with me, it's only for mice like you, just try to be on a safer side.

He was displeased by the comment he got from his friends but tried to be more careful on his end.

There was an uproar in the compound as the snake fell into the mice trap so the farmer's wife went to remove the snake but was beaten and later died.

Many people came to mourn her dismissal so the farmer headed to the lamb and killed it for his guest.

Things weren't going well on the farmer's side since he has huge debts on himself, he decided to kill the cow so he could pay for his debts.

The only animal which was remaining on the farmer's land was the nice.

People don't want to hear and help others when they need our help, just like the mice he needs the advice of this friends but they couldn't advise him rightly because the problem wasn't theirs.

This is my entry for the round 5 contest hosted by @amirtheawesome1

Thank you for the parable, the story gets a little confusing though:

There was an uproar in the compound as the snake fell into the mice trap so the farmer's wife went to remove the snake but was beaten and later died.

The twist in the story, so a snake was killed in a mouse trap, and the farmer's wife... died? From removing the snake from the mouse trap?

Many people came to mourn her dismissal so the farmer headed to the lamb and killed it for his guest.

So guests came to mourn the death of the farmer's wife, so they slaughtered the lamb.

Things weren't going well on the farmer's side since he has huge debts on himself, he decided to kill the cow so he could pay for his debts.

So if the other animals put themselves in the position of the mice and concerned themselves with the danger they might be in, then they could have offered better advice to the mice, but as it were, they were all killed and the mice survived, because there were bigger threats than mouse traps on the farm.

If I were to learn a lesson from this parable, I would say to never look down on those who feel threatened by something, just because I don't feel threatened by something. I should place myself in their situation and help by offering real advice, instead of essentially saying "not my problem".

I hope I understood this correctly.

You understood it clearly buddy...thanks for noting where am making errors, I'll improve on my next writing.

Thank you for helping others improve their content.

That's a funny short story. There were some errors and confusion that someone else already brought up I see. But, the core and lesson of the story worked out great.

Thank you for posting in our COMmunity.
