Name: Morlun

Origin: Morlun is a member of an extra-dimensional race known as the Inheritors who feed on totems- beings who are part human and part animal with a particular desire for spider powered individuals.

source

At one point, Morlun and his family defeated the spider deity known as the Master Weaver. Enslaving the Weaver, the Inheritors used his power of dimensional travel to explore the multiverse in a quest to hunt down and feast on every spider totem they could find. This hunt led the Inheritor known as Morlun to Earth-616 and an encounter with a spider totem named Ezekiel who narrowly escaped Morlun’s wrath.

source

Ezekiel sought out other totems including Cindy Moon aka Silk and Peter Parker aka the amazing Spider-Man in order to warn them about Morlun’s coming. While Silk was able to get into protective custody, Spider-Man was forced to go one on one with the most frightening villain he’d ever faced.

Powers/Abilities: Morlun has the power to absorb the life force of living beings. Similar to a vampire’s thirst for blood, Morlun requires this life force to survive and the more he consumes the stronger he becomes. While he can drain the life force of any living creature, his hunger is most sated by the life force of totems (animal-human hybrids). Morlun can sense the life force of any being he has previously come into physical contact with. While the range is unknown, he was able to track Spider-Man wherever he was in New York City after their first encounter.

Morlun has superhuman strength sufficient to lift 20 tons though this varies depending on when he last fed and how much life force he consumed. Spider-Man stated that Morlun’s punches are the hardest he’s ever felt (keep in mind that Spider-Man has fought the Rhino, the Hulk, and the Juggernaut). Morlun has also torn through a net composed of adamantium, one of the strongest substances on Earth.

Morlun moves at superhuman speeds and alternate versions of Spider-Man have stated he’s fast enough to overcome their precognitive early-warning spider-senses. He has above human stamina and durability having survived and withstood such attacks as repeated blows from the super strong Spider-Man, being stabbed by Wolverine, being hit by a vibranium tipped nuclear missile, gunshots, etc. with little or no effect. Morlun has superhuman reflexes and is functionally immortal (he doesn’t age or get sick). While he’s been killed on more than one occasion, one of Morlun’s siblings has stated the only way to permanently kill him is to fully deplete his life force. Otherwise he’ll always return.

He can also fly.

weaknesses: he has proven susceptible to nuclear radiation, must regularly feed on life force energy (particularly that of totems which fully restores his strength and maintains his immortality), and he is only invulnerable to harm if he is concentrating (when his guard is down, Morlun is easily as vulnerable as a normal human).
Random Trivia: Morlun is best known as the villain who (temporarily) killed Spider-Man. Following a brutal battle in which the web-slinger was already weakened due to illness, Morlun savagely beat Spider-Man to a bloody and unconscious pulp (in the process ripping out one of Spidey’s eyes). Morlun would then show up at the near dead Spider-Man’s hospital room later on to finish the job, endangering Mary Jane Watson-Parker. A weakened but enraged Spider-Man used the last of his strength to kill Morlun but almost immediately after succumbed to his wounds and illness and died (though he revived later).
