Sleeping Awake

Think The Matrix, meets Nightmare On Elm Street, meets I Hate Fairyland, and you've basically got the look and feel of The Moon is Following Us or at least that's how I felt after going through the available three issues.

Two parents must battle their way through their daughter's dreamscape in order to rescue her from what appears to be an eternal slumber. They are joined by a legion of her favorite playthings who take on the forms of battle-hardened soldiers ready to wage war against the dangerous threat that manifests itself within their owner's unconscious.

The two determined parents must work hard to not only rescue their daughter by navigating with and through their respective strengths and weaknesses but must also, at every stage, remain tethered to the waking world and avoid forgetting the distinction between the two states.

Better To Be Asleep?

I must say, TMIFU didn't immediately grip me with its general premise of two parents fighting tooth and nail for their child, but it's comic that does grow on you over time, and I remain interested, as I'm others will too, of the primary motives of the main dream guide, Tash.

Regardless, the comic appears to be interested in the nature of our dreaming states, yet simultaneously focuses on exploring themes of loss, grief, and continuity. Despite positioning itself with a familiar look and feel, I'd say TMIFU is worth a read :).
