HAPPY 400th JAVA JAGUAR STRIP!

We celebrate episode #400 with... well, just a regular daily scene of Java being snarky in the cafe. I know for episode #200 I dropped the "I am your father, but not really I guess I was mistaken" bombshell story arc. (also featuring second not-father...) I thought about launching the true story of Java's dad on 400, but I think such a super momentous event really needs to happen on episode #500. So, stay tuned for 100 more episodes of Java Jaguar to find out who his mysterious Jaguar daddy really is.

To help celebrate Java Jaguar's 400th strip, you should have a Java party. With scones and espresso and civets. Invite all your friends and family. SmartCast your phone or computer to your Smart TV so that everyone can binge-watch every episode of Java Jaguar from the very beginning. Throw toast when Java says "toast!" It's a finely controlled chaos event!

Seriously. Do it. I'm expecting an additional 10,000 page views today. I bought extra bandwidth on my host server today. Don't make a monkey of me.

Oooh! There should be monkeys in Java Jaguar. Monkey test pilots flying in Falcon suits like Captain America has. New Captain America, not old man Captain America. This is also the second consecutive Java Jaguar strip that shows a pencil. Do kids even know what a pencil is? I bet if I wanted to handcraft a pencil from scratch without using any modern technology or pre-made materials it would take me over three years.

That is my "I drank coffee" ramble for the day.

Boilerplate:
JAVA JAGUAR is a webcomic based on the true story of a talking jaguar cub found in a coffee shop. Yes, I said based on the true story. Java Jaguar is produced by the nomadic cartoonist, Matt S. Law, on his mobile art studio consisting of Clip Studio Paint Pro on a Microsoft Surface Pro 7+.

Jeez, I don't think I've used an actual pencil to draw in... has it been five years already? This drawing tablet really has spoiled me. And yet, it speeds up the process and allows for much cleaner corrections, so who am I to complain? 😁

Agreed. Down with pencils!

Happy 400th! That's a lot of drawing. I guess you don't use a pencil anyway. I do now and then, sometimes for crosswords actually. I prefer the cryptic kind. A clue for BARISTAS could be something like:

Drinking place is backwards at making coffee (7)

Not that I'm any good at setting such clues.

Thanks! The last time I used a pencil for comics was way back in the early days of Kickman and Java, I would sketch out the page on scratch paper, scan it, then struggle to draw the lines again with a mouse on my laptop. Glad that drawing tablets are a thing now.
