The Incredible (IT) Hulk

There is definitely something to be said for standards. Standards are good. They're good for consumers, users, and, frankly, even good for the companies that adhere to them. The electronics world today is mostly - mostly - standards compliant, until you find that one oddity that has a Unique and Different Power Supply (Nintendo, I'm looking at you).

Do you know what it's like to need to perform some plumbing with a 5/8 inch nut when you only possess metric wrenches? Yeah. That's a good idea of competing standards.

Apple still does their own thing, too. "Standards? We have our own, thanks." And just when you got used to Thunderbolt connectors and get everyone connected with USB A, along comes USB 3 and suddenly all your cables are antiquated. Fuckers. So how do we fix this problem?

More adapters.

I actually really like the USB-C standard and appreciate technology moving toward it. I'm definitely not bitching about progress. What I am bitching about is my huge collection of cables that I can no longer keep track of. The ironic end result is that, when I do finally need one and get frustrated from rummaging through them all and not finding it, I just go buy another to add to the collection.

I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one with the orphaned cables drawer!

OMG no, I have cables everywhere! I'd say I have a love-hate relationship with them, but it's really a hate-hate-hate-hate relationship! 😂

That sums it up nicely! My pissed off moment with when I got the newer Samsung in the now have the micro USB so my old Samsung chords and android chords don't fit my newer model film. Then get the Galaxy note 10 plus they no longer have headphones you have to use earpods and then you have to worry about losing your earpods lol

lol! Exactly! It was a bit of a shock for me, too, moving from an old Mac Air to a Macbook Pro; nearly all my accessories suddenly needed accessories!

Yes, I can imagine 😬. Have a good week!

I feel your pain. And do you know what's the best about USB-C? There's no wrong side up or down :D

That is definitely a plus! 😃And I'll admit I like the data transfer speeds, and the accessories that can suddenly be plugged into a Samsung phone. But soooo many cables. 😂
