Цього дня в 1868 році відбулась цікава історична подія. 30 березня 1868 року був підписаний договір про продаж Росією Аляски Сполученим Штатам Америки за 7 200 000 доларів (11 мільйонів царських рублів).
Переважна більшість істориків вважає, що головною причиною продажу Аляски є програш Росією Кримської війни. Після поразки від коаліції Великої Британії та Франції, Російська імперія опинилася у складному фінансовому становищі. Царський уряд боявся втрати Аляски без будь-якої компенсації в разі нового військового конфлікту. Росія не здатна була захищати віддалені території від флоту Великої Британії та Ірландії.
Цікаво, що в США не всі схвально сприйняли цю угоду, бо вважали, що не варто витрачати кошти на величезну територію, яку противники угоди називали заповідником для білих ведмедів.
Але коли на Алясці були виявлені золото та багато мінеральних ресурсів, ця угода була визнана головним досягненням адміністрації президента Ендрю Джонсона.
Відомо, що історія розвивається по спіралі і є в мене відчуття, що доведеться росії знову щось продавати. Поразка росії в війні з Україною очевидна, а тому настав час готувати нові угоди. Землі в росії ще багато, треба поспішити, щоб хоч якусь компенсацію отримати, бо настане час коли задарма заберуть. Впевнений, що на землі Сибіру та Далекого сходу покупці швидко знайдуться.

It is interesting that not everyone in the US welcomed this agreement, because they believed that it was not worth spending money on a huge territory, which the opponents of the agreement called a reserve for polar bears.
But when gold and many mineral resources were discovered in Alaska, the deal was recognized as the crowning achievement of President Andrew Johnson's administration.
It is known that history develops in a spiral and I have a feeling that Russia will have to sell something again. The defeat of Russia in the war with Ukraine is obvious, and therefore it is time to prepare new agreements. There is still a lot of land in Russia, you have to hurry to get at least some kind of compensation, because the time will come when it will be taken away for nothing. I am sure that buyers will be found quickly in the lands of Siberia and the Far East.
