Human rights violations and war crimes
Reports published by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) have connected the Azov Battalion to war crimes such as mass looting, unlawful detention, and torture.[83][84] An OHCHR report from March 2016 stated that the organisation had "collected detailed information about the conduct of hostilities by Ukrainian armed forces and the Azov regiment in and around Shyrokyne (31km east of Mariupol), from the summer of 2014 to date. Mass looting of civilian homes was documented, as well as targeting of civilian areas between September 2014 and February 2015."[83]
Another OHCHR report documented an instance of rape and torture, writing: "A man with a mental disability was subject to cruel treatment, rape and other forms of sexual violence by 8 to 10 members of the 'Azov' and 'Donbas' (another Ukrainian battalion) battalions in August–September 2014. The victim's health subsequently deteriorated and he was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital."[84] A report from January 2015 stated that a Donetsk Republic supporter was detained and tortured with electricity and waterboarding, which resulted in his confessing to spying for pro-Russian militants.[84]
You know so much about the Azov Battalion, I'm amazed... I can't say for individuals there... In the family, as they say, not without a freak. Anyway - try to study the whole history of the war in the Donbass, starting from 2014. You will benefit! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_in_Donbas. And about content of Wikipedia, if you don't know, it's created by people. By different people with different intentions and preferences. It's a pity, but there also present russian propahanda. If you wish, we can create an article there about you and that you are a terrorist. Will you believe it if you read about it on Wikipedia? You will probably believe... You can easily believe a lie. But you are not worth our efforts... Any information from Wikipedia should be checked, especially one that has an interested party. And I live here in Ukraine. I have a lot of friends and acquaintances, including from the eastern regions. They are telling the truth, that's for sure. Yes, there were enough pro-Russian people, but there were no Nazis. All evil comes from Russia.
