Modern life is extremely busy. It is easy to notice that we more often read some funny short things or even watching meaningless short videos on the Internet than reading books. Unlike these pointless actions which only drain our nervous system, reading has many advantages. Let’s consider the most important ones.
First of all, reading is one of the best ways to reduce the stress level. It is one of the most important advantages because our modern life is filled with stress. Texts can help you to calm down and even improve your sleep if you will do it regularly before going to bed.
Secondly, people who read are in general more creative, as their imagination is always getting enough training when they read books. Also, you can find numerous ideas and new thoughts in books of different genres.
Moreover, reading makes it easier for you to concentrate, as you must concentrate on the plot while reading. Thus, your concentration is getting the training and soon you will notice that your ability to concentrate becomes better in other activities as well.
So, considering all of the above, it seems that it is worth putting the gadgets away even for half an hour a day and take a good book, which will help you to be happier and more successful.
Do you like reading? What are your reading habits? How many books do you try to read a year?
I was reading so much, when I was a kid. Usually a book a week, sometimes even more. With the beginning of university I did only read the books and papers I had to and when not needed, didn't read anything.
It is such a great skill and activity! Thanks for encouraging reading.
