Народжений у 1899 році в Граці австрієць Адам Райнер єдиний у світі чоловік, який був як карликом, так і велетнем. У 21 рік його зріст становив 118 см, але потім з невідомих причин він почав швидко рости і до 32 років досяг позначки 218 см. Через ці порушення він жив прикутим до ліжка і помер у 1950 році у віці 51 року при зрості 234 см.
