Winter is coming and Russian soldiers are at the wall of Ukrainian soldiers defending there country. "It is crazy to think that this war is even happening. I should be at my home with family but I can't because we have to fight for our freedom". My friend who had just spoke to his family who was asking him what he needed for this winter. Has been struggling to get winter gear he will be up north this winter defending his country from russian and Belarusian attacks.
Recently Russians have been launching hundreds of rockets and Iranian made drones from Belarus into Ukraines captial targeting civilians homes and the power infrastructure. Kyiv was home to just shy of 3 million people just before the war escalated in late February. Many Ukrainian families left in February and March but the majority have returned with out the ability to permanently relocate other places they have been left with very few options.
As homes are destroyed and families ripped apart by the death of there loved ones both on the front and in civilian populated areas the mood of the Ukrainian people is not fear but anger and determination. We have been doing our best on the front to gather warm cloths and sleeping bags so not to freeze in the below freezing temperatures that come with winter.
The men are not looking forward to long cold days and nights but there is a sense of positivity as the men see videos coming from russian troops being sent to the front with out cold weather gear no training and no will to fight. It gives them confidence they will overcome the difficulty of the harsh winter conditions and will have a massive advantage come spring time when the fighting is expected to pick back up.
