Almost two years have passed since the day of the full-scale war with the Russian Federation. Ukraine retained its statehood and independence, and continues the struggle for the liberation of those territories that Russia managed to capture during the first months of the war.
And so on February 8, 2024... President Zelenskyi announces the resignation of the Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine, General Zaluzhny. To be honest, rumors about the conflict between the general and the president have been circulating for a long time, but until the last one, it was not believed that it would come to this.
Resignation of the general who saved Ukraine. One of the few in our country, whose authority in society is unshakable, and trust is boundless. Time will tell whether the political leadership did the right thing.

Zaluzhnyi Valery Fedorovych (Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 2021 to 2024)
Born on July 8, 1973, Novohrad-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region.
After school - Odesa Higher Unified Command School (until 1977), after which - service.
Later - the combined military faculty of the Odessa Institute of Ground Forces.
December 2020 - successfully graduated from the master's degree of the National University "Ostroh Academy" majoring in "International Relations".
On December 16, 2023, he defended his thesis in law and obtained the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy. The defense of the dissertation on a special topic took place at the National University "Odesa Law Academy".
During the entire period of service, he received the following titles:
Major General (August 23, 2017);
lieutenant general (August 24, 2021);
general (March 4, 2022).
On February 8, 2024, Zaluzhnyi was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine (super logic to award the highest state award and retire).
The American publication Politico called Valery Zaluzhnyi an "iron general". The general himself tried to avoid publicity, and the results on the battlefield and the number of eliminated enemy soldiers and equipment spoke instead.
Valeryi Fedorovych was known for his desire to reform the Armed Forces according to NATO standards. He actively cooperated with NATO and implemented a new, flexible model of warfare in which small units can act independently, without waiting for orders from above.
The most important value of the general was always human life. This distinguishes him from opponents from the country of the aggressor, where human life is worth nothing.
Zaluzhnyi showed himself not only as a strategist, but also as an effective leader of Ukrainian troops. Under his leadership, the Ukrainian army managed not only to withstand the blow of the Russian army, but also to repulse the initiative, conduct a counteroffensive and win strategic victories.

І ось 8 лютого 2024 року… Президент Зеленський оголошує про відставку начальника генерального штабу України, генерала Залужного. Якщо чесно, плітки про конфлікт генерала та президента ходили давно, але до останнього не вірилось що дійде до такого.
Відставка генерала, який зберіг Україну. Один з небагатьох в нашій країні, чий авторитет у суспільстві непохитний, а довіра безмежна. Чи правильно вчинило політичне керівництво, покаже час.
### Трішки біографії: Залужний Валерій Федорович (головнокомандувач Збройних сил України 2021 — 2024 роках)
Народився 8 липня 1973, м. Новоград-Волинський, Житомирська область.
Після школи – Одеське вище об'єднане командне училище (до 1977 року), після чого – служба.
Згодом - загальновійськовий факультет Одеського інституту Сухопутних військ.
Грудень 2020 року - успішно закінчив магістеріум Національного університету "Острозька академія" спеціальність "Міжнародні відносини".
16 грудня 2023 року захистив дисертацію з права та здобув науковий ступінь доктора філософії. Захист дисертації на спеціальну тему відбувся в Національному університеті «Одеська юридична академія».
### За увесь період служби отримав наступні звання: генерал-майор (23 серпня 2017); генерал-лейтенант (24 серпня 2021); генерал (4 березня 2022).
8 лютого 2024 року Залужному присвоєно звання Героя України (супер логіка нагородити вищою державної відзнакою та відправити у відставку).
Американське видання Politico назвало Валерія Залужного "залізним генералом". Сам генерал намагався уникати публічності, а замість нього говорили результати на полі бою та кількість ліквідованих ворожих солдатів та техніки.
Валерій Федорович був відомий своїм бажанням реформувати ЗСУ згідно зі стандартами НАТО. Він активно співпрацював з НАТО та впроваджував нову, гнучку модель ведення війни, в якій невеликі підрозділи можуть діяти самостійно, без чекання наказів зверху.
Найголовнішою цінністю генерала завжди було людське життя. Це відрізняє його від опонентів з країни агресора, де людське життя нічого не вартує.
Залужний показав себе не лише стратегом, а й дійсним лідером українських військ. Під його керівництвом українська армія зуміла не лише витримати удар російської армії, а й відбити ініціативу, провести контрнаступ та здобути стратегічні перемоги.
