Throughout the war, the issue of military assistance to Ukraine has been very acute. And recently, when our defenders report that sometimes the balance of forces on the front line is 1:10, you just want to shout about it. If some countries had given us at least what they had promised (in particular, Germany), the situation could have changed radically. Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar said that at present Ukraine has received only 10% of the total amount of weapons in need. She states that without Western assistance, unfortunately, we will not be able to cope, no matter how dexterous our warriors are.
Протягом всього часу війни питання військової допомоги Україні стоїть дуже гостро. А останнім часом, коли наші захисники та захисниці повідомляють про те, що іноді співвідношення сил на лінвї фронту 1:10, про це просто хочеться кричати. Якби деякі країни надали нам хоча б те, що пообіцяли (зокрема Німеччина), ситуація вже могла б докорінно змінитися. Заступниця міністра оборони України Ганна Маляр заявила про те, що наразі Україна отримала лиш 10% від загального обсягу озброєння, яке потребує. Вона констатує, що без західної допомоги, на жаль, нам ніяк не впоратися, хоч би якими вправними не були наші вояки.
So far, everyone is waiting for the results of the meeting of NATO defense ministers in the Ramstein format. Of course, we all have high hopes for this meeting. Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the presidential office, called on Western countries to send weapons faster, because they are in great need at the front. The life of our people, including civilians, actually depends on this. Jens Stoltenberg has previously stated that NATO intends to plan Ukraine's transition to Alliance standards in terms of weapons. All these statements and words are very encouraging and correct, although it is painful to see with what speed they are sometimes realized. And sometimes they are not realized at all.
Наразі всі в очікуванні результатів зустрічі міністрів оборони країн НАТО у форматі "Рамштайн". Звісно, ми всі покладаємо на цю зустріч великі надії. Радник голови офісу президента Михайло Подоляк закликав західні країни відправляти озброєння швидше, адже на фронті дуже його потребують. Від цього фактично залежать життя наших людей, в тому числі мирних мешканців. Єнс Столтенберг раніше заявляв, що НАТО має намір спланувати перехід України на стандарти Альянсу з точки зору озброєння. Всі ці заяви та слова дуже обнадійливі та правильні, хоча боляче бачити, з якою швидкістю вони іноді реалізовуються. А іноді не реалізовуються взагалі.

I heard several times about situations when volunteers collect money for a pickup truck, copter or thermal imager for a specific military or battalion tactical group, but don't make it on time. These people are simply dying while waiting for help. These stories break my heart, and it is about such personal cases that we need to speak, shout, bring them to the ears of the decisionmakers. What would they say to these people if they could look them in the eye? That they wanted "not to spoil relations with putin" and "wanted to save his face"? Macron said that the President of Ukraine will still have to sit down at the negotiating table with russia for peace. It is very easy to talk about "stubborn" Ukrainians when nothing threatens his native France. Hearing about this sham and hypocritical "diplomacy" is pure cringe.
Декілька разів чула про ситуації, коли волонтери збирають гроші на пікап, коптер або тепловізор для конкретного військового або БТГ, але не встигають. Ці люди просто гинуть, так і не дочекавшись допомоги. Ці історії рвуть мені серце, і саме про такі, персональні кейси треба говорити, кричати, доносити їх до вух тих, хто приймає рішення. Що б вони сказали тим людям, якби могли подивитися їм в очі? Що вони хотіли "не псувати стосунки з путіним" та "хотіли зберегти йому обличчя"? Макрон заявив, що президентові України все одно довелеться сісти за стіл переговорів з росією про мир. Дуже просто говорити про "впертих" українців, коли рідній Франції нічого не загрожує. Чистий крінж чути про цю бутафорну та лицемірну "дипломатію".

This week we expect an important decision on granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership. According to a survey by the New Europe Center, the majority of the population of France, Germany and the Netherlands support Ukraine on the path to European integration, and these countries have always been known for their not very friendly (mostly neutral, as if we do not exist) attitude towards Ukraine. This is pleasant to hear, although the rates of positive responses to the survey fluctuate between 60 and 70%. I hope the right choice will be made. And no matter how tired we are of knocking on this door, we must be systematic and persistent. I believe that we have already proven a hundred times how worthy we are to be part of the European family. Therefore, we are waiting for a positive result.
Ще цього тижня очікуємо на важливе рішення про надання Україні статусу кандидата на членство в ЄС. Згідно з соц.опитуванням центру "Нова Європа", більшість населення Франції, Німеччини та Нідерландів підтримують Україну на шляху до євроінтеграції, а ці країни завжди були відомі своїм не надто дружелюбним (переважно нейтральним, ніби нас не існує) ставленням до України. Це чути приємно, хоча й показники позитивних відповідей з опитування коливаються між 60 та 70%. Сподіваюся, вибір буде зроблений правильний. І хоч би як ми не стомлювалися стукати у ці двері, треба бути системними та наполегливими. Вірю, що те, наскільки ми гідні бути частиною європейської родини, ми вже сто разів довели. Тож чекаємо на позитивний результат.
