And then came the day we left Turkey. The idea to cross the ferry arose because my son travels by car and we could go by ferry with the car. It was not very expensive. Six people + car - the cost of the trip is $ 125.
І ось настав цей день, коли ми покинули Туреччину. Ми прожили тут 90 днів, і відправились далі в напрямку Європи, невідомо куди і наскільки...
Ідея переплисти на поромі виникла, тому що мій син подорожує на автомобілі і ми могли поїхати на поромі разом з машиною. Це було не дуже дорого. Шестеро людей + машина - вартість поїздки 125 $.
Ми прибули на поромну станцію, де ми мали пройти паспортний контроль і перевірку багажу. Слава Богу, ми пройшли все швидко. Але був один неприємний момент - нашу машину вирішили перевірити з допомогою собаки!
Коли ми пройшли контроль і чекали на посадку, ми побачили великий грандіозний пором. О, це мабуть наш - подумали ми )))
Ну звичайно ж потрібно зробити фото на пам'ять. Він виглядає майже як Титанік :)
We arrived at the ferry station, where we had to pass passport control and baggage check. Thank God we passed quickly. But there was one unpleasant moment - we decided to test our car with a dog!
When we passed the control, we waited for landing and saw a big grand ferry. Oh, it's probably ours - we thought )))
Well, of course you need to take a photo for memory. It looks almost like the Titanic :)
Але це був не наш пором... Виявилось, їхати нам було зовсім недовго - всього пів години. Добре, що нашу машину пропустила таможня і ми встигли успішно завантажитись на пором. Він виявився значно меншим і мене дивувало, яким чином на такому маленькому кораблику може їхати два автомобілі і мотоцикл.
Моя невістка помітила що підлога нашого порому виглядає як український прапор :)
As soon as we boarded the ship, my children took pills for nausea. And I decided to try to go without taking a pill, although I'm sick on the ship also. Unfortunately, my Victoria was not helped by the pill and she was suffering from ill health. I was also not thrilled with this sea voyage. But I tried to walk less on deck, looked ahead and videotaped these insanely beautiful landscapes of the Cesme Peninsula, and then the island of Chios, which we saw in the distance.
Як тільки ми сіли на корабель, мої діти випили таблетки від укачування. А я вирішила спробувати їхати не випивши таблетку, хоча мене укачувало теж на кораблі. На жаль моїй Вікторії не помогла таблетка і вона страждала від поганого самопочуття. Я теж не була в захопленні від цієї морської подорожі. Але намагалась менше ходити по палубі, дивилась вперед і знімала на відео ці шалено красиві краєвиди півострова Чешме, а потім острова Хіос, який ми побачили вдалині.
In the distance we noticed a big beautiful ship! No matter how beautiful it looks, I like to watch ships sail at sea, but do not sail on them))) We like to travel by plane more. My Victoria sleeps on the ship because it's so much easier for her to go, she doesn't feel so sick!
Недалеко від нас ми помітили великий красивий корабель! Наскільки б він не виглядав захоплююче, я люблю дивитись, як кораблі пливуть на морі, але не плисти на них ))) Літаком нам подобається більше подорожувати. Моя Вікторія спить на кораблі, тому що їй так легше їхати - не так сильно тошнить!
Here we finally saw the coast of the island of Chios. This land, of course, looked exactly like Turkey on the Cesme Peninsula. Round smooth mountains, almost bald. There are only a few round bushes and trees on them.
See how different the color of the Aegean Sea is: at depth it is deep dark blue, and closer to the shore it is bright turquoise!
Ось нарешті ми побачили берег острова Хіос. Виглядала ця земля звісно точно так, як Туреччина на півострові Чешме. Круглі плавні гори, майже лисі. Лише поодинокі круглі кущі та дерева є на них.
Погляньте наскільки відрізняється колір Егейського моря: на глибині він глибоко темно синій, а ближче до берега він яскраво бірюзовий!
So, hello to the famous Greece. I've never been here before. I wonder if you will be as beautiful and interesting as warm, generous and exciting Turkey!

I am sure you will like Greece and Sakız Adası (Chios Island) and you will feel as if you are in Turkiye. I feel so at least whenever I am in Greece. If talk, you will hear stories from locals, which have a relation with Turkiye, especiall during the great population exchange in 1920s.
I am looking forward to read your posts about Chios. I know it is a wonderful island.

Thank you Stefanos! I looked - you live in Crete. Greece has a lot of places that are beautiful. Is it possible to find in Crete not very expensive housing for a month in a cozy village near the sea?
Well Crete is not a cheap island, especially during summer and close to the sea. It would have been great though to have more hivers on the island :)

It is a song from the 70's called tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree. It was adopted by the American public to welcome home their armed forces from Vietnam, people today still do this yellow ribbon round a tree or a lamp post to welcome home loved ones x
Greece is a great choice, I'm sure you won't regret going there. And I hope you can return to your homeland soon
