Perhaps it's a "super power syndrom". I do remember quite some years ago that the US was going to launch a "shock and awe"-campaign against Iraq. My friend from the US was celebrating the news, hoping that they would "kill as many Iraqi bastards as possible" during the campaign. I was quite shocked to hear that - but it occurred to me that this probably was representative for the US population as such. And probably quite some Russians are thinking the same about "Ukraine Nazis" - that they deserve what's coming. (though, most of them believe it's Ukrainians denying civilians to leave their cities and purposefully shelling their own cities ... totally crazy).
Still, it's wrong to stigmatize every Russian. There are good people as well. We found this one yesterday:
