Recognizing the "Little" Around Us

in Photographers4 months ago (edited)

Great day indeed, a day of great achievements, how has your day been, everyone? Mine is with sharing.
It's been two days or more now that I haven't been so active and following up on the #augustinleo daily prompts, but guess what! Today's prompt got me engaged, I love taking shots of things I come across, I love photography and I love nature. So seeing today's #augustinleo prompt asking everyone to visit the #photographers community and share amazing photos of the smallest things around us, I got the vibe to engage.

I'm sorry these may not be the smallest things around me, but I'm not equipped with gadgets to get clear and quality photos of smaller things.
I will be sharing my photos of animals and plants. I am a young farmer and I visit my farm very often, most times when I get into my farm and I see small animals, I get a shot of them.

To begin, I would love to share a photo of a butterfly I caught once I visited my farm.

That same day I visited the farm, I saw a snail while I was trying to mulch my cocoyam plants. Snails are small and slow creatures and they are at the same time, my friends. They help my crops grow better in some ways.

Then by my farm is a shrub fence. These shrubs bear flowers that help attract pollinators to our farm. So coming out from the farm, I got some photos of two of the different varieties of flowers.

As a farmer, I have come across different crop pests including the caterpillars. These caterpillars destroy the foliage parts of my farm crops. This is a direct consequence of the regular visit of butterflies and flowers.

These caterpillars that destroy my crops come from the butterfly which also helps pollinate my crops, so the butterfly is my ‘friend-enemy”, lol.

Lastly, I can remember one of the days my friends and I decided to go on a short stroll around the school environment, by the gate, we came across an anthill with black ants energetically moving in and out of their underground homes.
That caught my attention and I decided to get some shots of them.

It's a nice thing to appreciate the good work of nature in our surroundings and the #augustinleo prompt for today has made it possible for everyone to engage. I felt so happy to see what today's prompt is all about and I invite everyone who loves nature and appreciates everything in our surroundings, both big and small to engage in this prompt.

Thanks for reading.
