Everything can be a Stock Photo or Video

Everything can be a Stock Photo and be licensed

When you are working with stock photography you must keep in mind that literally everything can be made into a stock photo or video.

Even something as simple as a silly home made cake.

But not just that, because the whole preparation of the cake could have gave me way more stock images. But in this case, these are just some old photos I had here, and I was not thinking that way.

For sure if I am to bake a cake these days, I will be taking way more photos, because they can be used by others on creation of material that is related with food, cakes, desserts, baking and so much more.

So even when you are doing the more mundane stuff at home, if you have the time, get those lights ready, camera set, and take photos as you get those done! Even house chores, like dishes, laundry, cleaning and so on, all of that has the potential to be licensed.

I know it might sound silly, but you are already doing those tasks, so getting some photos and videos of it, and have the chance to monetise it adding them to your stock photography micro agencies is is a plus.

So the next time you are doing a simple task, keep in mind that you could be getting some money out of it. Instead of doing it for free.

Keep in mind, they might not become your best sellers, but you might be surprised and some of the things that you do on your routine, might be actually something that others look for a lot, but because it is so mundane, people might not be thinking about creating stock about it. And in that case, that one thing you do, that maybe someone else also do, can actually be a great seller.

These example, these are older photos, that I had not in mind stock photography and cakes are a very saturated area. But imagine someone wants cakes with dinosaurs, or chocolate icing, or green sprinkles, all of those make these photos have some potential. And they were just sitting here doing nothing. So I might as well get them on my portfolio.

Remember, if you are trying to grow your stock photography and video portfolio, don't be afraid of getting the images out there. Only the ones that are online have the chance to be licensed, the ones on your folders and hard disks, those definitely will never be licensed, cause you never gave them a chance to shine.
