Hello everyone. It can be quite stressful being a mom to a toddler with asthma, especially when they experience an asthma attack.
My son suffered another asthma attack. I'm unsure about the exact triggers, but my husband's smoking habit might be a contributing factor. Since my son is exposed to thirdhand smoke, this could be exacerbating his condition.
My husband's smoking has been a major point of contention between us. I've repeatedly expressed my concerns about how it triggers our son's asthma, but he seems unwilling to listen. It's incredibly stressful to feel like he doesn't prioritize our son's health.
My son's fever lasted for two days, prompting a visit to his pediatrician. I didn't want to waste time worrying unnecessarily. Fortunately, my husband had just been paid, so I had the funds for the check-up and any necessary medication.
Yesterday, I requested a half-day leave from my lady boss to take my son to his pediatrician for a check-up. I informed her that I would return to work if the appointment finished early and then I texted the pediatrician's secretary to say we would be coming in for the check-up that day.
We head to the city by bus around 8 am and get to the clinic by 9 am.
When we arrived at the clinic, there weren't many patients waiting, and the doctor was already there. While we waited for our appointment, I took a photo of my son with the Christmas decorations near the clinic.
Since my son wasn't hungry for breakfast, I gave him some wafers to eat.
The secretary then summoned us when it was our time.
The doctor examined my son and asked me several questions about his medical history. After the examination, the doctor wrote a prescription and provided instructions on how to administer the medication.
Following the medical check-up, we settled the consultation fee and made our way to Plaza Marcela, a conveniently located store near the bus station that serves our area. Before heading to Jollibee to indulge in my son's favorite meal, we made sure to purchase the necessary medication.
After my son's check-up finished early, we decided to stop by Jollibee for a meal. He was thrilled to enjoy his favorite Spaghetti and Yum Burger. I also ordered a spaghetti to-go, just in case we had a long wait before our bus departed.
We were fortunate that the bus was ready to leave for our destination as soon as we boarded.
It was time for my meal as I was practicing intermittent fasting while traveling back to my workplace. Since my son hadn't finished his delicious burger, I decided to take a bite and drink some water.
Upon arriving at work, I break my fast and begin my workday, often eating lunch while working.
My son's fever has subsided, but his cough persists. He's currently taking antibiotics for his cough and an asthma controller medication.
Thank you for taking the time to read my article. I sincerely hope that you found it engaging and insightful. May divine blessings be bestowed upon us all as we continue our journeys.
