I somewhat disagree with the first sentence of your post: new borns are never boring!
Saying newborns are boring does not mean he was taking away their awesomeness. Just that it's the same routine with them every day. Eat, sleep, cry, poo; rinse and repeat. The routine breaks when they start smiling :)
This being said, I stopped at 2 kids… but for other reasons.
I have got 2 already and not eager to get a 3rd to the chagrin of my wife. Although she's a bit calm now that I do not hold a daily job :)
I have never meant this. Please make sure I didn't intend to offend you.
I agree that new born babies are quite repetitive, but honestly I don't remember I ever felt bored (exhausted yes, but bored no). Back in the days, I was so excited by the new experience that I didn't think about that.
On our sides, we would have loved to have 3 or 4 kids. But in Europe, it is hard to manage (I find that nothing is really made for larger families).
No offense taken at all. Maybe boring is not the right word to use in this case but I think I understand him.
I also understand that many are quite conservative with the number of kids to have nowadays due to different reasons. Around here, it is mostly finance-related. Everyone is trying to limit their births to the number their finances can cater for.
I am all with you on this one. The financial part truly contributes to my worries about getting more kids.
