Whenever we go to Cubiro to share as a family, I'm sure it will be a great day. I had this trip planned before I went. When I told the kids that we were going, the first thing they did was jump with excitement and say yes, and they immediately reached for their hats and coats.
We were on our way to our destination. The drive is a bit long, about an hour and a half. They started looking out of the car window, and when we were going up the mountains, they said: “Oh, it's so cold, how foggy it is!” I looked at them and laughed a little to see how they couldn't stand the cold.
We just arrived at the village, which is before reaching the hills, and when we saw that huge sign that says: “Welcome to Cubiro”, I felt the emotion.
In the landscapes you can appreciate a lot of beauty and not to mention riding a horse. The first thing my son Kevin did when we arrived was to get on one, but I was nervous that he might fall off. He thinks he is an adult and that he can do everything by himself; mothers will understand me.
My daughter, Nathalia, always takes pictures. She did that a lot on this outing. Emily was watching all the stores for me to buy her something. I particularly go for the strawberries with cream, they are my weakness in this place. How delicious are the jojotos! In other countries it is known as elote or choclo. What I didn't buy were wafers because there wasn't the stand where I am used to buy them.
Without a doubt it was a day with lots of laughter, and on the way back they didn't have the same energy, they even fell asleep. Years can go by and the emotion of going to the hills of Cubiro will always be the same as if it was the first time. That's all for today, see you in the next post.

Aventura Maternal: Emoción y Paisajes en Cubiro
Siempre que vamos a Cubiro a compartir en familia, tengo por seguro que será un gran día. Este paseo lo tenía planeado antes de ir. Cuando les comenté a los niños que íbamos, lo primero que hicieron fue brincar de emoción y decir sí, y buscaron enseguida sus gorros y abrigos.
Íbamos camino a nuestro destino. El trayecto es un poco largo, 1 hora y media aproximadamente. Se pusieron a mirar por la ventana del auto, y cuando estábamos subiendo por las montañas, ellos decían: "¡Ay, qué frío hace, cuánta neblina hay!" Yo los miraba y me daba algo de risa ver cómo no soportaban el frío.
Justo llegamos al pueblo, que está antes de llegar a las lomas, y al ver ese cartel enorme que dice: "Bienvenidos a Cubiro", sentí la emoción.
En los paisajes se puede apreciar mucha belleza y ni hablar de montar a caballo. Mi hijo Kevin lo primero que hizo cuando llegamos fue montarse en uno, pero a mí me daba nervios que se pudiera caer. Él cree que es un adulto y que puede hacer todo solo; las madres me entenderán.
Mi hija Nathalia, siempre se toma fotos. Ella hizo mucho eso en esta salida. Emily observaba todos los comercios para que le comprara alguna cosa. Yo particularmente voy por las fresas con crema, son mi debilidad en este lugar. ¡Qué rico son los jojotos! En otros países es conocido como elote o choclo. Lo que no compré fueron obleas (wafer) porque qué no estaba el puesto donde estoy acostumbrada a comprarlas.
Sin duda fue un día con muchas risas, y ya en el camino de regreso no tenían la misma energía, hasta dormidos se quedaron. Pueden pasar años y la emoción de ir a las lomas de Cubiro siempre va a hacer la misma como si fuese la primera vez. Esto es todo por hoy, nos vemos en el siguiente post.

Dios bendiga tu hermosa familia. Que estos momentos se multipliquen y permanezcan siempre en sus corazones y memorias. Tus fotos han sido un regalo visual, despertando en mí una añoranza infinita que hasta lágrimas me ha sacado. Recordé mis muchas vacaciones en Cubiro con mi madrina, primos y hermanos, momentos inolvidables. En una de estas cuando tenía 10 años, junto a mi hermano y un primo, entramos a la Cuevita del Viento en una época de frío bien sabroso. Con los jeans arremangados, nos metimos en un riachuelo y terminé cayendo de largo a largo en el agua helada. Además del golpe, dejé de sentir los deditos de los pies, y desde entonces no volví a intentar algo similar. Ya casi 20 años sin visitar Cubiro; mi madrina ya no está y la distancia nos separa a todos los demas. Gracias por hacerme revivir estos recuerdos.
