Hello, dear Hivers! I hope all is well with you and your family. I will take this moment to share with you something that I consider my treasure and pride. That is, being a mother to this God-given gift- my daughter.
My daughter is 7 years old and she is in primary school. Grade 1 to be specific. Her name is Reuelle Faye O. Chapa. She loves to play like most kids do. She likes going to school too. She sleeps early in the evening, just so, she can wake up as early as 5:30 in the morning the following day.
Coming home from school she would always share the things she did with her classmates and teachers. I can say, she enjoys her time in school and as a mother, it makes me happy knowing that she is making good memories she could treasure and cherish forever.
When asked about her subjects and how well she does in school, she would usually say, "It's fine mom." I let her be and never asked for in-depth details at all. At the back of my mind, I was really worried because she got different subjects now compared to her Kindergarten days.
At the end of the first quarter, I received a letter from her teacher saying that a card-giving and awarding were scheduled on a specific date. I was a bit anxious and excited at the same time. There was no program attached so I thought of just receiving a card only.
When we were at school, we patiently waited for the program to start. The Grade 1 learners were called first and gladly my daughter was one of the recipients of the "WITH HIGH HONORS" award. Honestly, I wasn't expecting it because I was not imposing her to be one. Besides, I never heard her telling me her scores were high. All i ever wanted was for her to learn and have fun.
Surely she had fun and the award was just a bonus. I could't imagine the feeling of pride I felt when we climbed up the stage to get her award. It was a mix of emotions. I thought to myself, this must have been the feeling of other parents when given such a proud moment. It was unexplainably glorious!
To celebrate the achievement, we ate out together with her classmates and their parents. I could see the happiness in my daughter's eyes for the treat I had for her. She was so grateful and kept saying thank you while we were heading home. My heart was full of gladness and love. We are blessed and we thank the Lord for that. No money can tantamount the joy I felt at that moment.
I consider motherhood as both an honor and a responsibility and I have God to thank for giving me a chance to be one.
That's all dear Hivers! Thanks for reading this far. Do you also happen to have your proudest moment with your son and daughter? Please share it here.Sending hugs and love to all of you.
