Sofia is eight months old now and I can't believe how close she is to her first birthday. I have noticed that as the days go by, she is having more and more new experiences and I am amazed at what she is learning from them. On several occasions I find myself thinking about how smart she is. I guess everyone thinks the same way about their children at this stage, so I'll take the liberty to think that way about my daughter as well.
Now that she is older she is super fidgety. She doesn't stop crawling back and forth and I have to be behind her for fear of her getting a bump. I must confess that there have been times when I couldn't stop her and there have been small accidents, but thank God, except for the scare, it hasn't become a big deal. She still doesn't love to crawl on the floor. After all, she finds it very slippery and sometimes it is even safer to leave her there than on the bed because she is more careful in it.
She loves to stand up apart from crawling, every object that feels firm pushes her up and keeps her standing, and she can stay like that for a long time without getting bored. She has more confidence on the back of the bed and ventures to walk leaning on them. More than once she has leaned only on the wall or walked with our help on the floor and I wonder if this is a sign that she is going to walk soon. Be that as it may, I am not going to push her, she has advanced practically on her own; with the only help of having provided her with the opportunity to feel confident.
On the other hand, she has become more confident. Now she can't meet anyone without giving them a beautiful smile. Everyone is enchanted by her and frequently asks us if she is always like that. That got me thinking and I concluded that she has only looked a little uncomfortable and withdrawn when she has to be in a meeting with more than twenty people. One of those times was when we had the opportunity to attend Hive Creators Maracaibo.
At first, she was a bit annoyed and overwhelmed at the meeting, although she was very curious about the place and the people who were there. I thought she wasn't going to get used to it until I saw her laughing uproariously with one of the content creators. I felt better because, even though the event was practically over, she was able to adjust and was happy and comfortable.
She has also been pleased to have my parents and family visit. Before when they came for the first time she cried a lot, but in these opportunities, she behaved very well. Except for moments of hunger and sleepiness, Sofia didn't cry and that relieved me a lot. I also think that the other times I was too stressed thinking about how she was going to behave and that influenced her indirectly. I decided to relax and that gave positive results.
I was so happy to see my father playing with his granddaughter, mommy hugging her and singing the same songs she used to sing to me when I was a child, and my aunt and cousins taking pictures with her. Those moments I will never forget, and I hold on to them because I know they will never come back; but beautiful ones will come and I hope to be there, God willing, to enjoy them.
The cake was for us
When Sofia turned eight months old, her great aunt surprised us with a pineapple cake. The goal was to celebrate how far our little darling has come. Although she can't eat cake yet, I thought it was nice to celebrate her progress as a family. We have all been part of this process and it fills us with joy to see our baby girl happy. Soon the cake will not be eaten by us but by her and I believe that as she is a Tiano and Codinos name, she resembles us.

We tried to take pictures of her to remember that day, but it was quite difficult. No one told us how complicated it is to take pictures of a baby! However, here are some of the ones that came out the best and we want to share them with you. They are not the perfect pictures, but they carry beautiful memories with our daughter and that's what matters.

Mi bebe esta creciendo
Ya Sofía tiene ocho meses y no puedo creer lo cerca que está de cumplir un año de edad. He notado que mientras pasan los días, ella vive cada vez más experiencias nuevas y me sorprende lo que aprende de ellas. En variadas ocasiones me encuentro pensando en lo inteligente que es. Supongo que todos piensan igual de sus hijos en esta etapa, así que me daré la libertad de pensar así de mi hija también.
Ahora que está más grande está súper inquieta. No parar de gatear de allá para acá y yo tengo que estar atrás de ella por temor a que se dé un golpe. Debo confesar que hubo momentos en que no pude detenerla y han ocurrido pequeños accidentes, pero gracias a Dios, salvo por el susto no ha pasado a mayores. Todavía no le encanta gatear en el piso porque lo encuentra muy resbaladizo y a veces hasta resulta más seguro dejarla ahí que en la cama, porque es más cuidadosa en él.
Les fascina pararse aparte de gatear, en cada objeto que sienta firme se impulsa y se mantiene parada, puede estar mucho rato así sin aburrirse. En los espaldares de la cama es que tiene más confianza y se aventura a caminar apoyada de ellos. Más de una vez se ha apoyado solamente de la pared o ha caminado con ayuda nuestra en el piso y me pregunto si es una señal de que va a caminar pronto. Sea como sea, no voy a presionarla, ella ha avanzado prácticamente sola; con la única ayuda de haberle proporcionado la oportunidad de que sienta en confianza
Por otro lado se ha vuelto más confianzuda. Ahora no puede conocer a nadie, sin regalarle una hermosa sonrisa. Todos quedan encantados con ella y nos preguntan frecuentemente si todo el tiempo es así de "regalada". Eso me hizo pensar y llegué a la conclusión que solo se ha visto un poco incómoda y retraída cuando le tocado estar en una reunión con más de veinte personas. Una de esas veces fue cuando tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir Hive Creators Maracaibo.
Ella al principio estaba un poco fastidiada y sobrepasada en la reunión, aunque le daba mucha curiosidad el lugar y las personas que estaban allí. Pensé que no iba a acostumbrarse, hasta que la vi riendo escandalosamente con una de las creadoras de contenido. Me sentí mejor porque, aunque ya había terminado el evento prácticamente, se pudo adaptar y estaba feliz y cómoda.
También le ha sido grata la visita de mis padres y familiares. Antes cuando venían por primera vez lloraba mucho, pero en estas oportunidades se portó muy bien. Salvos por momentos de hambre y sueño, Sofía no lloró y eso me alivió bastante. Creo también que la otras veces yo me estresaba demasiado al pensar como se iba a comportar y eso influía en ella indirectamente. Decidí relajarme y eso dio resultados positivos.
Me dio mucha alegría ver a mi padre jugando con su nieta, a mami abrazándola y cantándole las mismas canciones que entonaba para mí cuando era niña y a mi tía y primos tomándose fotos con ella. Esos momentos jamás los olvidaré, y me aferro a ellos porque sé que no volverán; pero vendrán otros bellos y espero estar ahí, Dios mediante, para disfrutarlos.
La torta fue para nosotros
Cuando cumplió Sofía los ocho meses, su tía abuela nos sorprendió con una torta de piña. El objetivo era celebrar los lejos que ha llegado nuestra consentida. Si bien ella no puede comer torta aún, me pareció grato celebrar sus avances en familia. Todo hemos sido parte de este proceso y nos llena de regocijo ver a nuestra bebita feliz. Dentro de poco la torta no nos la comeremos nosotros sino ella y creo que si es apellido Tiano y Codino no nos dejará ni un poquito.

Intentamos tomarle fotos para recordar ese día, pero nos fue bastante difícil ¡Nadie nos dijo lo complicado que es tomarle fotos a un bebé! Sin embargo, aquí hay algunas de las que salieron mejor y queremos compartirlas con ustedes. No son las fotos perfectas, pero llevan hermosos recuerdos con nuestra hija y eso es lo que importa.

Ver el avance de nuestros niños es la felicidad plena. Sofia está creciendo rápido y es hermoso ver por aquí todos sus nuevos logros.
Para mí esa es una de las etapas más bellas. Verlos comer nuevas cosas, experimentar, gatear, caminar y hablar. Esos son momentos que jamás olvidas.
Disfruten cada pequeño detalle, porque como ya te has dado cuenta el tiempo pasa volando!

Que hermosa está Sofía... Recuerdo cuando estabas embarazada y todos los sustos que pasaron ese papá y tú.... Ha sido un camino precioso. Mi María Teresa ya está por cumplir los 2 años y también me gusta hacer un resumen en mi mente de todo lo que hemos pasado.
