I had been preparing for this moment for almost a month, but despite my efforts, I couldn’t shake the nervousness that crept in. What if the kids didn’t enjoy my story? Stepping into my daughter Zadie's classroom, however, a wave of excitement washed over me. Today was the day – I had been invited to be the guest storyteller, sharing a tale close to my heart with her classmates. Clutching the book "Spot Meets Her Sister" in my hands, I couldn't wait to embark on this enchanting journey with the children.
As I settled into the storyteller's chair, I glanced around the room at the eager faces staring back at me. Zadie, my little princess, sat among her friends, her eyes shining with anticipation. With a smile, I opened the book and began to weave the story of Spot and her sister, Sussie.
With each turn of the page, the children were drawn deeper into the magical world of Spot and Sussie. They gasped in awe as Spot welcomed her new sister into her life, and they giggled with delight at the playful antics that ensued. It was a joy to see their imaginations come to life as they followed along with every word.
As the story reached its heartwarming conclusion, I could sense the children's excitement bubbling over. But the magic didn't stop there. With a flourish, I reached into my bag and pulled out snap bracelets adorned with tiny purses – a special gift for each of Zadie's classmates, including her.
The room erupted with cheers as the children eagerly snapped the bracelets onto their wrists, their eyes sparkling with delight. Zadie beamed with pride as she showed off her new accessory, her excitement contagious as she giggled and chatted with her friends.
As it was time for me to leave, I felt truly happy and content with how everything turned out. Today had been more than just a storytelling session – it had been a moment of connection with my daughter’s classmates, many of whom I had come to know over the past eight months. I even found myself recalling their names in that moment. I waited outside until the entire class session ended, and when I finally saw Zadie, she immediately gave me a big hug and showered me with kisses, expressing how proud and happy she was that I spent the day at her school.

que bien tener esos momentos!
How nice to have those moments!
Wow, what a beautiful room, the children look so beautiful and interesting, you are a good mom, well done
Hey, that's nice. Just today I was in a reading promotion workshop and one of the actions is to have guests in the classroom to read and they can be the parents themselves.
I want to implement it with my students because I always read to them myself.
That's great to hear! For sure the students would appreciate it ❤️
