Hi Motherhood Community 💫
Every November 27th is celebrated in my city its anniversary of foundation, this year Cumana also known as the first-born city of the American continent turns 509 years old and in Lucia's school a family celebration was organized to commemorate this date with typical costumes of the time and also typical costumes of our indigenous ethnic groups because the central focus this year was our ancestral roots, it was a wonderful celebration, full of stories, joy and lots of laughter, so today I share it with all of you!
For this celebration the school assigned each classroom a specific theme to represent, in the case of first grade it was 'El Puerto de Perlas', this was where the Spaniards were received and traded food, various items such as pearls and swords, also traded indigenous slaves, among others.
For this theme the children were dressed some as Indians, others as sailors and ship captains, monks and some girls with typical costumes of yesteryear, as was the case of Lucia who was dressed as a lady of yesteryear and she looked really beautiful, like a little princess from fairy tales! 💖😍
There were many masterfully decorated stands so we took a tour of each one of them where we found huts, hammocks, hammocks, handicrafts and many different indigenous ethnic groups, there were also more stands of the colonial era where there were ladies of yesteryear and many items from that time as typewriters, old telephones, beautiful pictures of that time and some facades simulating the Castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia de Cumaná-Venezuela 🇻🇪.
Something that I loved about this celebration is that the teachers also wore old and indigenous ethnic costumes and in each stand they told a different story both with the decoration and with the different speeches of the children who explained what their stand was about, this stimulates the children to learn more about our history, our culture and our roots. There was also a musical atmosphere, a very funny band and a retreta of yesteryear that of course got us all dancing!
We shared a great, educational and very fun afternoon as a family and Lucia also had a lot of fun with her classmates, this holiday of yesteryear is certainly something magical that I love to enjoy with my beloved family! As always it was a pleasure to share our experiences with you! 💞 Thank you for reading me! 😃 See you very soon! 💫
