[Esp-Eng] Asperger, una visión diferente del mundo/Asperger's, a different view of the world

Children with Asperger's syndrome have a different way of seeing the world, their way of acting, thinking and even speaking different from what we are usually used to

Although we live in a world that is moving faster and faster, there are still certain taboos and wrong opinions about children with this condition, some people sometimes ask me this question: How did you find out that he had this disease? And this only shows how little information they handle about it

Lucas is my third child, although he had been treated neurologically for some time, it is just when he reaches six years old that he is diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. For me it was not a surprise, because I had already been noticing attitudes in him, which called my attention a lot and I had begun to investigate about it.

What for other parents would be a park for their children to have fun, for us it is the place where Lucas advances every day and corrects and prepares himself to face his personal challenges, but this does not mean that it is not fun, his laughter and joy in each therapy is contagious, and he is filled with satisfaction every time he can complete his tasks

Having a way of being different from others does not imply that you are the wrong one and the attitude we take in any situation is what will determine how you will live.

Lucas is a wonderful boy, with feelings and a way of being that make him attract attention wherever he is, his vocabulary makes it impossible not to be noticed.

His therapies have become one more appointment to share as a family and we all try to get involved in them

In fact, an afternoon of therapy can safely turn into a family outing.

Being Asperger is not being sick and much less crazy, it is having a unique perspective to look at, it is evaluating situations in another way, living this situation directly has taught me that everyone has a way of perceiving things and that they do not want say that you are wrong.

My experience as a mother of an Asperger child has shown me a beautiful side of the human being that I did not know, I have been able to experience the wonder of knowing that someone cannot lie, knowing that you must express yourself clearly and above all, never make a promise that you will not be able to fulfill 🤭
