Children learn from what they hear and see. The authority figures closes to them are their parent. As a result the people they know and love the most become their roles model - the good and bad parts. The will emulate you as the authority figure. Hence, parent need to be careful about their behaviour around children - hence setting a postitve example is best. Children will most certainly copy adults - they are mini expressions of what resonates with them - in speech and action.
