Children learn through play. When they are so small, they need those relationships in an informal environment to know what their limits are. They are exploring the world, developing their character and acquiring skills. They have a whole life later to do tasks, it doesn't seem like a good idea to overwhelm them at a stage where they should have fun and play. I think you have chosen a good place and that in the future you will appreciate this decision. 😊
