Our preparation for the Fruit festival at my son's school.

I thought preparing my son for his school's fruit festival would be an easy task. But I forgot, it's never easy when there's involvement for kids (in a good way)!

A few days ago when his school called for a fruit festival day, everyone was excited to join. Summer means a lot of local fruits for us. There are homegrown mangoes, jackfruit, pineapple, litchi, banana, plum, and many more.

His school asked to bring a fruit basket, if possible, for every student to attend the program. Let me share the experience.

Finding the right basket to present/decorate the fruit was the first challenge. There was no specific instruction so I was not sure what to look for. Moreover, I'm new in this locality so didn't know where to find this kind of basket.

Fortunately, I heard that there was a craft shop near my house and we went there to see if we can find anything.

We choose this basket made out of 'Hogla leaf/tall grass'. It's eco-friendly, doesn't costs much, perfect in size for the fruit festival.

Our second challenge was to prepare my son for the festival speech. My son got selected to talk about 'Java Plum' which he was not familiar with before. It's a summer fruit of Bangladesh and not so popular.

Anyway, I took the time to prepare him for the speech. He was not very enthusiastic as it's not close to his favorite fruit as the java plum taste very distinct. He was messing up with the speech and did many mistakes during practice time.

This is how I assembled all the fruits. Later, we pasted my son's name and every other school detail on the side of the basket.

This is how the event went. The school authority and many guardians were present there. The principal asked the students about the fruits and the chosen students present their speeches as well.

Some students also perform dance and sing songs related to fruits.

It was a fun event.

To my surprise, my son was able to give his speech properly. It was such a proud moment for me as a mom.

Everything went well, the kids were allowed to open the baskets and eat whatever fruits they like. I believe, this type of festival really helps kids to boost their positive energy, making the learning process enjoyable.

Have a good day, everyone.

Hello.

What a nice fruit activity, I think it's a very good idea.

The basket looks beautiful and ideal for the event, of the fruits I only knew the banana and grapes. The fruit your son is talking about I don't know either, but I'm glad it turned out well in the exhibition. Congratulations.

It's nice to hear about fruit festival. Health is valued for kids.
